Country Connections — Local services in Stuarts Draft

April 15, 2025 - Looking for a “Retail Therapy” . . . drive out to Country Connections , in the quaint little town of Stuart’s Draft ! So many home decor and personal gifts ideas with a “ touch of Christmas” on the lower level ! 🎅🏼🎄

Owners Harry & Peggy Moore renovated their old 1947 barn into a three level Country style gift shop . . . Hybrid “Plow & Hearth” with a “Cracker Barrel gift shop” . . . which opened in 2000, in the small town of Stuart’s Draft.

On a beautiful sunny day, I ventured out to Country Connections for battery operated candles for our church alter. As the first customer in the door this morning, the store manager guided me over to their candle collection. Rather extensive! After picking my selection of candles . . . I toured the store’s 3 levels of gifts !

My favorite was the Christmas merchandise on the lower level. Too early for me to shop Christmas gifts yet, but I’m coming back when the temperatures & snow start falling! I liked the painting of the little Scottish terrier looking outside as “ his boy” constructed a Snowman with Red Hat & Scarf. ( see photo)

My wife and friends will drive to Stuart’s Draft . . . and visit Country Connections! Not far from Staunton, Waynesboro, Lexington, and...

Absolutely AWESOME, charming shopping retreat. Lovely, pastoral setting in the Blue Ridge Mountains about 8 miles off I-81. Definitely worth a day trip or weekend destination as the place is HUGE (two-and-a-half levels in a large, converted 1947 barn (now stunning, comfy, clean, and well-heated/air-conditioned)). The surrounding countryside is gorgeous, and there are other delightful stores around, like The Cheese Shop, Milmont Nursery, Miller's Bake Shoppe (the best CINNAMON ROLLS we've ever had!), and Sooner's BBQ (local food suppliers), all of which never disappoint. (Great Cracker Barrel nearby also.) Very kind, friendly staff at all these places. Country Connections has beautiful furniture and home décor--LODGE, LOG CABIN, RUSTIC, TRADITIONAL COUNTRY, PRIMITIVES, FARMHOUSE, AMISH--along with Christmas, music, candles, and fashion accessories--really, they have everything--and if you're lucky enough to visit the Open House, scrumptious barbequed...

Dear God don't go in the Christmas rooms unless you wanna be gotten on to and pushed out like your a criminal. If you don't want people down there block off the stairs!! Been buying here for years will never come back. New owners for sure. U can tell it to. Manager needs to learn how to treat someone that's 85 years old and was just looking around. When the person upstairs at the register SAID two rooms...
