LongRifles, Inc. — Local services in Sturgis

I'm Todd, GM of and reviewing on behalf of AllTerra Arms in Boise, ID. We've worked with LRI over the years outsourcing some of our component machining operations through their shop. LRI's work has always been high quality for us. What prompted me to write this review is a current situation we're having which requires some tight deadline and tedious bolt conversion work. Chad at LRI was happy to help when we called to see if they were setup and willing for the task. Due to some complexities of our bolt design and our end goal, the project has exposed some unforseen additional headaches and operations. We feel that other vendors would have sent our part back and said 'nevermind'. However Chad's communication, ideas, and timely dedication to a small project that will probably end up costing him more than it makes has been excellent....

I had been familiar with LRI since getting my RPR, but had never sent anything to them until recently. I sent a Howa 1500 bolt to them for fluting, bolt knob threading and cerakote refinishing.

Their service is solid and I got everything back exactly as I was expecting. Where their service stands out is with their service updates. You get an email & can check status online to view the “milestone” updates and a progress photo.

I have used other gun smith shops that post updates under your service ticket, but not another shop that posted photos of the work as services are are completed. I thought this was pretty cool.

I would recommend and would send them other work...

I have a Tikka 223 that shoots great, but needed some tweaks to keep my interest. A machinist I have used in the past was just too busy and recommended sending it to LRI. I am SOOO glad I did. It was so easy to figure out what I wanted, pay online and mail it off to Sturgis. The LRI website explains how busy they are, so I was shocked at quickly it was done. Their website kept me informed every step along the way. Most importantly, the craftsmanship is exceptional! I will be back with more projects soon... Highly...
