That was until Magic Mike and his trusty sidekick, the Boy Wonder from Appliance Service Solutions (once known as the humble Suffolk Appliance), swung into our kitchen faster than superheroes flying to a feline family crisis up a tree!

Our little kitchen friend was in a bad way, menacingly buzzing and grumbling every time we dared attempt heating up last nightâs pizza. Magic Mike, with a toolkit more magical than Mary Poppins' bag, peered into the depths of our microwave, nodded sagely, and muttered something about a "magnetron" and a "diode" - words that I assumed were cooked up in a secret superhero lab. Meanwhile, the Boy Wonder, his enthusiastic protégé, was so fast with his assistants that I barely caught more than a whirlwind and a blur as parts were exchanged with the speed of light.
With the swiftness and deftness of seasoned kitchen crusaders, they transformed our microwave from a grouchy old truck into a serene humming bee. I half-expected it to start floating gently around the kitchen, buzzing out Pizza rolls.
The service was not just fast, it was speedy considering a day without a microwave in a house with teens is a lifetime-uhhđ. Knowledge? Overflowing! Magic Mike should consider a side gig teaching at Hogwarts, and Boy Wonder definitely earned a few extra badges for his appliance hero sash. They kept the âBoss Ladyâ of the house updated at every turn.

   Read moreThis repair company used to named Suffolk Appliance Repair. Because of a miscommunication with the phone numbers, I thought I had to call a totally new-to-me company to come fix my 7œ y/o gas stove/oven. When I called this "new" company, I found out it was the same Suffolk Appliance Repair that I had used in the past (I hadn't seen the "FKA Suffolk Appliance Repair"). So, when I talked to the sweet girl that answered the phone, I found out they'd recently gone through a name change. I don't know why they changed their name and, frankly, I don't care (I didn't ask). This company (by whatever name you, I, or they want to call them), has the SWEETEST & MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE office staff & repair people with whom I have EVER come into contact. They try to send the same person to the same houses so that if a client has to have a repair person come out more than once (for the same problem on the same appliance), the client doesn't have to explain the problem to multiple people. And the office staff takes such good notes from their interactions with the client that WHEN the repair person calls to say he/she is on the way, that repair person can usually tell the client what he/she thinks the problem is....and, spoiler: the repair person is usually right!đ
I have said ALL of that âŹïž to say THANK YOU to "our" repair person, Mike M. He has been to our house 5-6 times in the last 8 years and has been professional, friendly, AND understanding about my nosey dogs & cats. And, yesterday (28 May 2025) when he was here to fix my stove/oven, he was in & out in approximately 15 minutes....because he was THAT KNOWLEDGEABLE that he knew what the issue was by only my description of the problem.    Read moreService tech was professional and confirmed where I had a leak in my appliance and gave us a fair estimate. I thought the $120 service charge was a little high, considering I had already removed the cover and casing around the appliance and it took less than 20 minutes to diagnose and give the estimate, with no additional work performed, but I guess it's in line with what other companies are charging these days. The window of 8-1 was a little broad as well- tech arrived at 1:55, he was covering for another tech who was sick. Okay that stuff happens, I can understand and commiserate. I was just glad he showed up. I would recommend they give you a smaller 2 hour window, that would be my only criticism. Sadly, our appliance parts would cost almost as much as a new machine, so we decided to replace. Tech recommended a few brands but definitely didn't try to sell us a new one (which was refreshing !) and also offered to talk to our insurance company if needed, which was also helpful.
