Dollar General — Local services in Sullivan

For the past few days the store has been locked up by 4:30pm.. however it's not updated online and when you call the number listed here it just rings and rings. This store is located in a very busy spot and could have huge potential!! I understand the store has had issues with staff (for whatever reason(s) ) but couldn't staff from another location come train people and fill in? Couldn't the company work out a deal with the local highschool (that's a few miles down the road) or set up a customer appreciation day with BBQ and incentives on joining the team(?) Have a district manager on the premises to hold interviews that day? Again, I'm unsure on why there's always been an issue with having adequate staff at this location...but there must be ways to fix some of it before the store ends up closing for good,...right?! As a "local" it's very frustrating and disappointing to watch this decline happen. This community really needs this store to stay open and thrive! I sincerely hope someone at the company starts thinking outside the box and tries new ways to help this store stay open and flourish. Attend a few town meetings, start asking the neighboring businesses and locals what they'd like to see from that location, make a plan and ask the town for some help!! Somebody do...

Love this place. Everything you ever want is there..and the staff is awesome. Update...... Update .....this store has really gone downhill in the last couple months. The new manager isn't taking care of stock. You can't get down through the isles.and it's very dirty. She is ruining this store for everyone. The complaint are the same for everyone I speak to. Dirty and empty shelve with multiple carts of stock blocking isles and you can't get down throught alot of isles due to stock just laying on the floor. Please do something before the store is completely gone. It was a goldmine at first. NOT...

There is something to be said for a Dollar General where there was no such store in the past, however the aisles are narrow and there doesn't seem to have any flow or rhythm to the store. There are some shelves running one direction then a set going a different way, that is slightly confusing. The shelves are almost all the way to the ceiling, making for a slightly claustrophobic shopping experience. In short, I am glad I was able to get zip top bags for a dollar, but was it worth an almost-panic-attack for such a deal...in my humble opinion,...
