My son saved up and bought a $170 pole this morning only to find that the drag didn’t work—he never fished with it. Brought it back this afternoon hoping to exchange. Cashier called the boss, and the boss wouldn’t allow us to exchange!
Boss told cashier he wanted to look at it in the morning. What was he going to tell us—that the pole isn’t broken and we can’t exchange it?! They sold us a broken pole. We wanted one that worked. It’s that simple.
They wanted us to leave the pole with them and wait until the morning. No thanks! We decided to get our money back and purchase the pole elsewhere.
When I explained my disappointment, the cashier never looked at me. She turned and worked the cash register then started counting money loudly in the middle of my sentence, as if to say, “Here’s your money. Take it and get out of here, the sooner the better.” I said, “Are you listening to my feedback?” She replied, “Yes, I’ve been listening.”
Me—“Then why are you talking over me?” She proceeded to finish counting and stare at me blankly. “Does nobody care?” I asked. …Blank stares. Wow!
At least my son got his hard-earned money back! We will be going to Fish-On for our supplies from now on. ...
