Never thought I would be mortified by a lifeguard.

My kids and I recently visited the complex and entertained ourselves in the family pool area. One of my cubs venture down the water slide three times during our visit. The first time he did very well and was able to get himself safely out of the pool after exiting the slide. The second time was not so pretty, and thanks to a female lifeguard on duty who used the rescue tube to help him out, he shook off the incident and went back to swimming. Later on he tried for a third time, but was almost pulled under the water by the current. Thankfully, a male lifeguard jumped in and pulled him to safety.

This was really painful for me tom watch, because while he knows how to swim, what he is not used to is having to swim away from a current that is present at the bottom of the slide. Because I was with my younger cub, I helplessly watched my little bear struggle. I knew the lifeguard was going to help him, but not being able to be there for my guy was painful.

As I’m getting ready to leave, I spoke with the head lifeguard on duty, and for some reason felt the need to apologize. Still not sure why. What I cannot understand is why the same female lifeguard who helped my son earlier, decided it was a good time to lecture me by saying, ā€œas his father, you need to know what your sons limitations are in the water.ā€ She even did me a solid by emphasizing each word by smacking her hands together, as if I was a complete potato who didn’t understand English.

I give the one star simply due to this individuals lack of composure and understanding of the gravity of a situation. First off, I am a grown man who basically watched one of his sons almost drown if not for the saving grace of a lifeguard. A little compassion could have been expressed at that time, but instead, she decided aggressiveness was the best response. Maybe she could use a little more training on empathy and how to speak to an individual after a traumatic incident will help further her understanding of how to conduct...

I've been coming to the sports and learning center for over a year and a half and I have not had any problems. If you want to stay fit and help to keep the body in good health this is the place to come. All the equipment you will need to getting and keeping the body in shape. They have weights, bikes, treadmills, tracks to run or walk on and two pools for walking these are the ones I use and if you love to swim they have three for the swimmers.Oh by the way they also have summer camp for the kids what a great place to come and work out and meet people as well.

Come on down and have fun while working out. Oh my I forgot the arobite classes they have those to if you need a little help getting started they have instructors to teach Water arobite and there's a spin classes as well where you are on a bike speed racing but going no where but what a workout your body will get. I think there's trainer's here too. If you are in good shap and want to stay in shap are want to start getting in shap this is a great place to start THE PRINCE GEORGE'S SPORTS AND LEARNING CENTER.

COME ON DOWN AND HAVE FUN WHILE GETTING THE BODY IN SHAP. And always remember safety come first , if you have never worked out using the equipment ask before using it there's someone there show you so be safe and don't over do it and follow instructions to the ( TEE).

This is my feeling and mine's only...

The only reason I joined this gym was to have access to their competition pools to swim laps. Upon going to sign up I was told Oct 3rd was when the pool would re-open (2 weeks wait time), so I signed up for the full gym & pool membership for 3 months. Almost 7 weeks later and the competition pools STILL are not open! I've gone twice now to swim because their website said it was open only to get there to see signs on the doors that the pools were still closed. I called again this morning before leaving to triple check and found out the "leisure" aka Kiddie pool was open but all of the competition pools were closed still and "hopefully would be open tomorrow, but to call & check back". Are you kidding?! Worst customer service, no email contact EVER, incorrect website information and I'm going to have to call back every day to see if the pool is HOPEFULLY open for use? Total scam for money and a waste of time. I could have had a Gold's Gym, Planet Fitness or any number of local gym only locations for a fraction of the cost. Truly disgusted...
