Since we live right down the road, our entire family has shopped at the Ferguson Polly's for years. It was convenient, they had great meat and the best golden delicious apples, until they quit caring about the customer because the money just kept flowing in no matter what they did or didn't do. Within the last 4 months on 3 different occasions.I went to get the golden delicious apples and 90% of the apples that were in the bags were rotten and should have been thrown away. These are the individual apples that you bag yourself. I told one of the young ladies that was working in the produce department that the apples were bad and she said she would tell somebody. I went in the next day and the apples were still there and still rotten, so I dumped every one of the bags out on the table. This happened two. other times that the apples were rotten I dumped them out on the table and they put them back in the bags to sell. Yesterday was the last straw. I went in and bought 2 packages of ground chuck that came to about $31. I took it home dumped it into a bowl poured steak season on top of it and when I started to mix it when I noticed a smell like urine. I had my sister smell it to make sure that it wasn't just me and she also agreed that the meat smelled like urine. I took the meat back to Polly's with my receipt and spoke with Forrest who said he was the highest up in the store and he refused to give me my money back because I had put seasoning in the meat and because the date on the package had not expired yet. I even stuck my hand in the meat and pulled out. Some that did not have seasoning on it and asked him to smell it and he would not. He said he could tell by looking at it that the meat was still good. I asked him what I was supposed to do with thirty dollars worth of meat that smelled like urine and he told me I could do whatever I wanted to with it. I left this urine smelling meat on the counter at the service desk and went across the street to prime cuts and bought fresh meat. I will not shop at this store again. I will tell everyone I meet and everyone I know about this experience how I was treated and how Polly's customers are expected to accept sub par food and at the Polly's on Ferguson Road, profit comes before customers. It's very unfortunate that Forrest was put in this position and never taught how to treat customers, but that seems to be the Polly's way. Shame on you Kennedy family. I am truly embarrassed for...
Read moreThis store just continues to get worse. It was once our go to for groceries. But (no exaggeration) EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. weâve gone over the last 5 years the produce is clearly spoiled, some even molding. Iâve removed -Soggy bags of apples and onions on several occasions. -molded russet potatoes, grapes, and strawberries, Most Vegetables if not already soft, have to be used on the day of purchase or theyâll be bad within 48hrs. Weâve purchased spoiled meat with a 5 day out âuse byâ date. Weâve purchased expired prepackaged ham. Thereâs always an abundance of employees around, so I donât under how this continues to go on. Weâre not the only ones with this issue, several of our neighbors no longer shop there for the same reasons.
Iâll also add that the entire 7 years weâve lived here, only a hand full of staff were friendly. On most occasions the cashiers make it very clear that theyâre annoyed that youâre even there. Weâve never complained, or not smiled at anyone. And yet thereâs even 2 that we will avoid at all costs because of how unnecessarily rude they are.
Clearly something happened 5 years ago because thatâs where the bulk of your good...
Read moreI've been shopping at Polly's for about 4 years now, and as far as stock goes it's possibly the best in town. Great meat and produce, and the Prairie Farm products are top notch. But be prepared for the customer service to be non existent at best, and downright rude at worst. You will get a pleasant experience every now and then, which is rare but good. Most of the time you will be ignored, so be prepared for that. There seems to be no sense of management on the floor, so everyone just kinda does what they want, and they're more interested in talking to each than talking to you or servicing you. On many occasions I've gotten the "give you your receipt while turning around to talk to my friend without saying have a good day" thing which I have to admit is pretty rude. It's a shame that for a store that has such good product that they seem to treat people like they're inconveniencing them. If this doesn't bother you than great, you'll get some good stuff there. If it does, then you might be better off going to Kroger where at least you can check out yourself, or going to the Spring Arbor Polly's which has MUCH better customer service and...
