I've used the U-Pull location next door more times than i can count, with great experience. I was looking for a new-er motor and they had one that came in, so i gave this side a chance
My experience today is disappointing, I'm not mad, but quite disappointed, which in some ways is worse. My engine was quoted at 48,xxx miles, i received a tag with 58,xxx miles. No big deal, i can get over a mistake. Next i noticed when looking at the engine before loading it up, it is nearly stripped to the bone long block, which was not discussed or mentioned.
No, throttle body, no alternator, no air conditioning compressor, no exhaust manifolds, not even a dipstick, just a open hole.- (No harness either, but i knew that going into the purchase) just received Intake, valve covers, timing cover, and some sensors on the valve covers. Oil pan, block, and heads.
I mentioned it to the guys pulling parts, he said it was unusual to not have a alternator, then back tracked and said they don't include it on I4 and v6 motors. Alright then.
The pallet that this engine was on is laughable, it is the most jank cracked ghetto pallet, and had 0 strapping holding the engine to it. and broke in the back of the pickup before i even got to take it out.
I called back my sales guy who originally helped me out, who apologized for the miscommunication and offered me a discounted rate on a alternator, which i do appreciate.
I don't think it was a intentional or a scam, but perhaps a lack of clarity on what product is being delivered, as i have purchased other long blocks from other vendors and have not seen such a stripped delivery before. (Looking on ebay, you literally cannot find this engine as bare as the way i received it. NOBODY does this.)
I'll have to spend more out of pocket than it would have been to purchase from someone else to get the missing items not included, and ultimately will spend more than what it would have been to buy somewhere else the first time.
Because of this experience, i cannot recommend this side of the part of the business. There is way too much wrong here to ignore. Hopefully they can take the feedback and criticism to provide a better experience...
Read moreI reached out to customer service and ordered a Fender with the fender flare and parking sensor attached. I only needed those two parts, but the rep said they donât sell them separately. Undeterred, the rep found a Fender with the flare and sensor and sent me the link to pay. They said the item would be ready by morning. The next morning, I called to check on my order, but they said there was a mix-up and the item wasnât ready. This was super frustrating because I only had a day to work on the car. I had to wait another day for it to arrive. When I went to pick it up the next morning, I was disappointed to find that it only had the fender without the flare or the sensor. I told the staff about this issue, but they all gave me blank stares. Their response was super unfriendly and seemed unwilling to help me. I asked them to check their yard for any other fender flares for my vehicle. I waited for half an hour, but they couldnât find any. Since I didnât need the fender, I asked for a refund. The staff told me to take my receipt to the front desk to process the refund. But I didnât have my receipt because they took it from me when I first arrived. So, they all started frantically searching for it. When I returned to the front desk, I explained the situation to the staff, and they asked if the part was still in the yard. I confirmed that it was, and they said someone would come and tell the staff to process the refund. But I didnât feel comfortable with their strange way of confirming my refund. I left the store feeling really disappointed and frustrated. To my dismay, itâs been over two weeks since I asked for the refund, and I still havenât gotten it. I just sent an email to the company to get them to process my refund. Iâm writing this review to share my experience and let others know how terrible it was. From the first phone call to the refund process, everything was just plain awful. Iâm so disappointed and frustrated with the companyâs lack of customer service and...
Read moreWhat a nightmare! I ordered a wheel for my Ford explorer. I made it clear that I got a "used" one on eBay that did not work. Chris promised a quality experience. After three days of no response, I contacted Chris. He said he did not order the part b/c he needed a deposit. That would have been nice to know. I gave my credit card info and he ordered. When that part arrived, I asked when I could get it installed. He said, "anytime before 3pm and we are closed on weekends." Really??? Do they expect people to take the day off work to get parts installed? I set up a date for my next day off. When I arrived, Chris ignored me for almost 10 minutes while I stood right in front of him. He was on the phone. Other sales reps interceded. When Chris was available, he said they would have it installed in less than an hour. No worries. After waiting for 40 minutes in the lounge and no one even coming to talk to me, I went back to the desk. I told them I had an appt. and needed to get out of there in 15-20 minutes. Chris checked with service and said, "Sorry, but, that is too tight." I asked to just take the wheel and install it myself. When I went to get it from the warehouse, it was visibly scratched and had corrosion on the inside just like my faulty one (and the one I got on eBay). I was furious. I went to talk to Chris and he denied ever discussing my not wanting a used tire. I demanded my money back and left after wasting over an hour and a...
