Update: April 16, 2025: They are not doing the Taco Tuesdays or Fish Fry at this time, but try their Birdies coffee station and sit in comfy chairs and enjoy the view. Update: Feb. 16, 2024: I added a picture of the Friday Fish Fry which I had tonight: fresh battered 3 pieces of cod with fries and slaw: very tasty and how pleasant to sit on the patio and see the lovely green view of the golf course. Taco Tuesdays from 4-7 p.m. rock! Pleasant golf course views and when it's hot the misters are on, but you can sit inside or outside. $6 margaritas, and $3.75 street tacos with all the fixings ( guac salsa, lettuce, onion, cilantro, sour cream, cheese) you can add in after the initial choice of one of these fillings: ground beef, shredded chicken, beef, and my favorite green chili pork taco which had such a delicious sauce I wish I coulda had a bowl of it! You can also get side of beans or Mexican rice for $2.50 each or a bay of homemade tortilla chips and salsa: $5.00. The lobby leading to the dining area is elegant, bathrooms are clean, and the little bar is pleasant. You need to place your taco order at the bar and then show your receipt at the taco station, so don't just go in and sit down unless you want to sit at the bar first and have a drink. They do have a few beers on tap too. Bring some cash so you can tip at the taco bar instead of adding that into your bar tab as there is a separate jar by the tacos and the chef is worth tipping. She will even give you some grilled onions at the grill if you want. I hear they plan on adding homemade tacos in the future so that will be even better. I'm so glad they allow non-country club members for this delicious experience, although I'm disappointed they no longer list Fish Fry Friday on their calendar--hopefully that will return as the fish was deliciously hand battered and the fries and slaw were good too. Customer service-wise the club needs to do better with their website, returning emails, and having people answer their phones. I called all 8 extensions to try to get some answers and the phones just rang and rang....come on folks--we want to give you business and consider membership, but we need some help and that's why you didn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePalmbrook has pretty much become my go-to course this year. It is centrally located between my golf buddies, itās economical and always in decent shape. Today has me second guessing this.
I booked a tee time through an app for a single around 10AM. When I checked in I was asked to join another single in the group. This isnāt terrible but certainly prefer to ride solo verses with someone I donāt know. The bad part was they kind of left it to me to track him down.
After 1-1/2 hours I found myself waiting on two groups on the 5th hole. It was easily going to be over 6 hours to finish, so I packed it in. I have never asked for a refund but truly felt it was due in this case. I headed to the pro shop and explained that the situation to the young man at the desk. His exact response was āI fell you man!ā Nothing close to an apology.
I went ahead and asked for the refund and he agreed to give me a rain check, until he realized that I booked through an app. He told me that they make $0 on tee times book through the app and that I would have to take it up with them. Iām guessing that will be a lost cause.
My first issue is why would you ever do business through an app that give you no revenue? ā¦especially when your course is booked. This is either incorrect or absolutely stupid.
Secondly, the problem was not with the app. The problem is that the course was mismanaged today. They either stacked up an unmanageable number of tee times or they neglected to manage the groupsā pace out on the course.
Lastly, I expect better customer service. I fully understand that I was not playing Pebble today but I donāt appreciate the lack of effort to do much of anything for me today.
I literally have hundreds of courses to choose from in the area. I will certainly remember today when booking my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis course itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the management ruined the entire experience for my group and me. The clubhouse manager, Josh Gold, displayed behavior that was not only unprofessional but also deeply concerning.
From the moment we walked in, he was rude and condescending. Shockingly, he yelled at a young staff member right in front of us and other customers, calling him an āidiotā and belittling him loudly. This set the tone for what became a very uncomfortable day.
Because my group visibly disapproved of his treatment of staff, Mr. Gold directed his player attendant to follow us from hole to hole in an attempt to rush and intimidate us ā even though we were playing at a perfectly appropriate pace and had paid the same as every other guest.
At the end of our round, when I attempted to address his behavior directly, Mr. Gold escalated further. He told me this was a āmenās clubā and falsely accused us of holding others up. When I disagreed, he screamed at me, slammed his hands on the counter, and became increasingly aggressive.
As the first point of contact for anyone visiting this course, Mr. Goldās behavior is an embarrassment to the facility and a disservice to what should be an enjoyable experience. No customer should ever be treated this way, nor should staff be berated in front of guests.
This review is not written lightly ā but I feel strongly that future guests should be aware of what they may encounter here. Until this manager is held accountable, I cannot recommend this course despite its beauty.
For any management that would like to reach out - I have a full video of...
