I know there are many choices for appliances, but it is a couple times in a lifetime purchase, and too many choices can be overwhelming. I had the refrigerator go out and decided perhaps after 12 years, it's time to just consider an entire matching package appliance upgrade.
I got on the big box store sites and of course they always have "something" on sale, but I also wanted service, I mean a stress free ordering process and delivery and set up.
That is when I decided to contact Spencer's. After looking at their reviews online and their website, I noticed they had very affordable packages to choose from.
While normally I like to touch and feel and look at my own leisure, I was nursing the mother of all toothaches, and desperately needed a fridge. Ours stopped working in middle of the night Thursday night, so I was depressed thinking probably be waiting until at least Monday to get something delivered.
I called and a live person answered, Joel, he was fantastic, he really knew appliances, and understood I rather shop online with his guidance than suffer into the store with a tooth throbbing. I told him dependability was very important so he steered me to a tried and true brand in appliances, Whirlpool, which I immediately felt comfortable with since those were the appliances we had originally installed in our home when it was built 13 years ago. That seemed like a pretty good life-span, so brand was decided. Next I mentioned I liked the black stainless fingerprint resistant surface but that was not readily available in package, and as I mentioned my fridge was MIA.
So I went with my second choice, the finger print resistant in regular stainless. Upgraded to the French Door version with water dispenser just inside the door, and ice in bin in freezer, omg, you just would not believe how much X-tra space that gave me inside my new fridge. I LOVE IT! Not to mention it is much easier to dispense water into pans for cooking and larger mugs, bottles etc, and no more hard water stains down the front of my fridge from over spill, I can see what I am filling as I fill it much better!
The ice maker will be a breeze, no more waiting on the auger to plop a cube here and there into my glass, I just use my stainless steel scoop (from Bed Bath and Beyond) to scoop what I need into my glass in one shot!
So Joel took time to make sure I got matching and moderately feature appointed appliance package, and it was all done over the phone, they arrived promptly the next day, with temps over 105° the sweetest deliver guys came and took away the old and brought in the new. They never complained, had smiles throughout, and were very grateful for the bottled water I offered them, although it wasnt very cold, lol, due to the fridge out of order. Still, very professional delivery, and they had to finesse getting that HUGE 25 cubic foot refrigerator up a staircase to my 'upstairs' kitchen. I was amazed how easy they made it look. I had other retailers refuse to offer upstairs delivery and so this really made my day.
Love the sales and service of Spencer's, glad I took a chance at supporting a reputable local business, and btw, their prices...
Read moreWe ordered a microwave drawer in June 2021, while preparing to have our kitchen redone. We went to Spencer's in Mesa at 5141 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212. I was born in Chandler and grew up in Mesa and now live in Gilbert. I wanted to keep my business local for the good of the area. UNFORTUNATELY this was a BAAAAD decision. The people at this store have done nothing but yank us around and basically lie to us. After paying for the item upfront last June in full, they told us at first it would be here in about 6 weeks. It was perfect timing for our new kitchen design. When that date arrived they said it didn't arrive this time but would arrive the next month guaranteed. They have said something to this affect every single month. We have never had any communication from them about the status of our order. My husband has been into the store three times and they were rude and dismissive to him saying "well we did get 50 of those microwaves in but they have already been sent out." Whaaat? Had we been told that we were on some list of not just 50, because they have now used this excuse several times, so a couple of hundred (yeah right) of customers who bought the same exact microwave drawer we did, we would have never purchased through this store, who btw still holds our ~$1500.00 since last June. We not only had a hole in our cabinets but no microwave so I had to go purchase a small one in order to have anything while waiting. And to go through the holidays with only that to help was difficult. This company, SpencersTV on 5141 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212 has absolutely the worst customer service I have ever seen anywhere! I would never suggest this store to anyone for any item and have heard nothing but negative things about them. I am seeking a refund because I now hear they do not stand behind their products. This review is LESS THAN ONE Star. I would love to give them a negative star. A very very upset and disappointed customer who was just trying to support a local...
Read moreWe have been Spencer’s customers for going on 23 years and have never been disappointed with their customer service or pricing…particularly the customer service!!! We have purchased multiple washers and dryers, multiple TVs, two refrigerators, a stove, a microwave, and a dishwasher.
About four years ago, we had problems with one of the new refrigerators we bought from Spencer’s ($2600 Kitchenaid), and after several service calls, it was declared unfixable by the manufacturer {Kitchenaid}, who offered an $800 dollar settlement for a $2600 refrigerator….Spencer’s stepped up and offered us a new refrigerator of our choice for up to the $2600. My wife chose a side-by-side but once it was delivered, she didn’t like it and asked if she could return it for another style, and Spencer’s agreed to that, which was really going the extra mile!
A few weeks ago we bought a new LG washer and dryer from Spencer’s. Right away we noticed that the dryer was really noisy. LG sent a technician who replaced the “bulkhead”, which required that the dryer be torn completely apart. It didn’t fix the problem. A second call by a different LG technician resulted in a diagnosis of a bad motor. All LG offered was to replace the motor, effectively meaning we had paid for a new dryer but got a refurbished one! We had been in contact with Spencer’s though out all of this, and we let them know what had happened. They spoke with the second technician and then called and told us they would replace the driver. It arrived today and works fine.
I don’t blame Spencer’s at all for the defective appliances – that falls on two manufacturers who didn’t back their products. Spencer’s just did the right thing, which is rare these days. I don’t know how you could get better customer service and treatment than those two instances illustrate. I am a Spencer’s...
