Weis Markets — Local services in Sunbury

I shop at several Weis stores in the area and this is my least favorite location. I have come across several out of date products (and no fresh products on the shelf), its very difficult to find an employee on the floor, the store aisles are cluttered and difficult to navigate with a cart, inventory is very hit or miss, many cashiers have no idea how to bag items correctly (I'm talking a 2 liter of soda in with bread, cleaning products bagged with food, basically common sense stuff), and there are rarely enough registers open and several of the card machines are broken and don't accept mobile payments without notifying the customer ahead of time. I can assure you that we would prefer an extra register open than have somebody telling us which line to go to. It's also frustrating waiting on hold for 10-15 minutes to place an order or the deli or fish counter. It's also uncomfortable having the cart person stand there and watch you load the groceries in your car, especially after declining their offer to help. This store is mediocre at best. Prices are high. The deals always involve buying multiple items to qualify. When the meat is buy one get one free I have noticed that they significantly raise the price by pound, so is it a deal? The reason I give 3 stars is because the staff have always been friendly. Last week I purchased a pack of boneless chicken thighs. They had a reduced for quick sale sticker. The very next day I took them out of my refrigerator to prepare. I open the package and the rancid odor was disgusting. The bottom of the package had black stuff and the fat on the chicken was orange in some spots. We all know mistakes happen so I went back to the store the next day. I had no receipt to show. I showed the manager 2 photos of the chicken and he gladly...

Stuck in its times; I have been going to this weis off and on for years and there hasn’t been a whole lot of change in design or even layout. The store seems to be a bit stuck in the past, don’t get me wrong it’s nice to know the location of items in a hurry but once a store stays the same for too long it becomes out dated. The cashier didnt greet us, upsell, nor even smiled even slightly and took her sweet time bagging everything. The cashier didn’t even rotate the bags around to make sure the previous customer got all of their items purchased because when she was checking us out she found a bag with items in it from the last customer. Come on weis I know you spend lots of money to improve quality over quantity but it’s not showing when it comes...
