We went for their burritos, and boy, are we glad we did. The flour tortillas used for the burritos are fresh and soft. We tried three varieties and all of them were just great. The grocery selection was very well thought out as well. There are the staples of beans and rice of course, but also all of the most useful canned products. The fresh produce has the most useful items which includes a fresh selection of tomatoes and jalapenos. They have beautiful fresh broccoli. The butcher meat section is great. I'm sure you could have a great cookout with any meat that they have. They have a generous choice of sweetbreads. I enjoyed the pineapple pastry and the large sugar sprinkled donuts. Went in to get menudo, well lets just say it was more hamony then meat! That was on a Sunday. Before we had left on Monday I would give them a try on the breakfast burritos, beans eggs and chorizo is what I ordered. The lady who was back there was cutting meat with no gloves, takes my order and starts to make it with out washing her hands!!! (She dose wipe her hands on a old towel tho.) She touched everything from tortilla to cracking the eggs, then grabs the spoon to scoop the chorizo out. As im watching her she then grabs the meat she was cutting and places it right next to the chorizo thats cooking. At that point I just walked out. Cross-contamination having raw meat on your hand and touching everything including customers food is just very nasty and unethical!. Won't ever eat there again. DOH should...

I cannot recommend Mercedes highly enough! They recently catered an event for us, and their pozole and tamales were nothing short of perfection. The pozole was rich, flavorful, and with the perfect balance of spices and tender hominy. The tamales were equally amazing, with a variety of fillings that delighted all of our guests. The masa was moist and perfectly seasoned, and each filling—from the savory pork to the vegetarian options—was bursting with flavor.
