I started going to Doc’s gym in October of 2021. The pandemic, my poor eating habits and loss of my job had put me on a bad path and I needed to make some changes. My son helped me ease my way into establishing a routine and I started to become more comfortable. I had frequently thought about meeting with a personal trainer but was worried about the cost and quite frankly the commitment. I was still kind of hoping for the magic cure.
After a few months I started slacking and not putting my full potential into my workout. In April of 2022 I made a life changing phone call. I was so nervous. I’m 55 years old and out of shape. I had only myself to blame. It’s all about willpower right? WRONG! The young man that answered my call immediately put me at ease. We talked a bit and set up a time for a consultation. Seriously I had so much anxiety the night before we met. What was I getting myself into. What could this young man teach a middle aged woman? Was I going to injure myself? I can’t exercise like the younger generation. Good lord!
Let me tell you something folks. Do this! You are so worth it! What a better thing to invest in than your health? I’ve been working with Landen for six weeks so far. We do a personal training session once a week and a coaching call once a week.
I have been given a personalized workout program created for myself. Based on what my body can accomplish. I’m simply amazed at the knowledge this young man has. He truly dedicates himself to your success.
I’ve lost 11 pounds so far and am kind of shy about showing pictures. I can tell you I have a long way to go but I am able to look in the mirrors at the gym now. I see my muscles! It’s so exciting! Read moreI've known Landen for a few years and started sessions with him doing Muay Thai kickboxing for fun after moving to Duluth - no real goals initially. His personal training was just starting to take off when I got pregnant with my twins. He was completely supportive of me continuing kickboxing and even took the time to research what was safe, unsafe, and when to scale down as I got further a long in my pregnancy. I continued kickboxing until I was 30 weeks with twins.
I started sessions back up when I was 5 weeks post partum and Landen had completely developed a training program that he is able to personalize to each client - even me starting from the ground up, after my 4th pregnancy and a c-section.
He took the time to research safe exercises post c-section, exercises that are safe for diastasis recti and at the same time I felt like I worked and was getting stronger.
He doesnt blindly follow a training program, he has a system that measures where you're starting from and can see measurable progress, be takes into account personal goals, injuries, health history and what you actually enjoy doing.
My husband also started sessions and primarily does kickboxing. Hes had low back and knee pain for 10 years or more that caused him to quit running. Landen took the time to find out what specifically bothers my husband's knees and he researched how to alleviate the pain. He hasnt had any issues since.
