The best Chicken Caesar Salad I’ve ever had! Period. End of story.

I’m so happy I got to talk to the mastermind behind this dish (Brandon knows what he is doing!!!), because I wouldn’t normally order this salad. I usually find Caesar salads to be bland and boring. Not this one!

Smoked bacon (made in house), croutons (made in house), plus a Caesar dressing that compliments instead of overpowering the salad - yes, again made in house.

Then Brandon explained how he makes the chips in house (I won’t try to explain it, because I won’t do it justice), but just know that it is like a chip and a waffle fry had a baby, and these chips are the wonderful, delicious outcome ~ light, but flavorful! A must order!!!

The cherry on top was the great service. Kathy was a fabulous bartender and server! She was welcoming from the moment I sat down, and was attentive, without being overbearing. She also made great cocktails!

Overall, The Shack was a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back on a weekly bases while in town for work. They apparently had a rough go during Covid, but Brandon (& others) have been working tirelessly to improve things, and I’m definitely impressed! I recommend you give them a...

My husband and sister-in-law both ordered the fish dinner. Both were dissatisfied because the crust on the fish with thick and very salty and hardly any fish on the inside. The coleslaw that was served with it had absolutely no flavor. They ordered the plain french fries and like those. I had a prime sandwich and asked that they put a piece of hot pepper cheese and mayonnaise on it. It says it came on a ciabatta bun. When I received my order, it came on hamburger bun that was soggy as they can’t hold the juice as a ciabatta bun can. They never put the hot pepper cheese or the mayonnaise on it. The prime rib inside was excellent. My side was macaroni cheese and I would order that again. There was hardly any customers in there, maybe six at the most and the surface was so slow and the waiter bartender never came out over to ask to fill our sodas or ask my husband if he wanted another beer. I would not recommend...

The service was great and the restaurant was clean. The decor is acceptable if a bit ungrounded, as if they couldnt decide between Diner/Chipotle and bar decor.

Unfortunately though, the food is far below the standards that a resteraunts should hold themselves to. For the Duluth/Superior area the quality is truly lacking compared to the other local restaurants.

We ordered the nachos, as am appetizer, the toppings appeared to come from a can and the beef was unseasoned. For entrees we ordered burgers that were simply of poor quality. There seemed to be some general skimping on quality ingredients to save money, though the recipes are probably the greater cause for the poor quality of food.
