This place's facility is OK, but the basketball courts are always occupied by county organized games or somebody pay money to have private events, so I would say, it's only open for free play to everybody less than 10% of the time. It is tax-payers' money (we the local residents' tax dollars) that is supporting this place, but they turned it into a money making business. I once made the suggestion that they divide up the whole court into sections so that more people can go play, but they said it cost money to put up some drapes. My son and I used to constantly go there and find out all courts are closed for some paid events. I hope the local residents would get together to find a solution through regulation or ordinance to force this place to actually "serve" the people who are paying...
Read moreThis Park has a lot of great elements. In the summer months, there is a splash pad that is a couple bucks per kid to get in, which is great. Down the hill from there are two separate playgrounds. The first is a more traditional playground structure with a couple slides, things to climb, and bugs to bounce/ride on. Toddler friendly. The lower playground is bigger and has a covered pavillion and picnic tables. The structures here are more for bigger kids (5+) with boulders and ropes to climb on. Mulch in both locations. Anyways, the staff here are far from friendly. I understand they deal with bratty kids and the entitled folks of Forsyth, but they really have a short temper and are consistently rude.
