I'm baffled by all of the 5-star reviews? This is undoubtably the WORST Meijer in mid-Michigan, maybe the whole state. The staff are the rudest, most unhelpful associates I've ever come across in the customer service realm. Unfortunately, the construction on 69 is too big a PITA to commute through to go to my usual Irish Rd store, so I've been hitting up the Swarts Creek location instead. The greeters don't greet. If they do, it's with irritation and contempt. Last trip, I walked up to a checkout isle with it's light on and a male cashier standing at the register. It wasn't until I turned into the isle with my cart that I saw the chain of death was blocking my path. Obviously, the isle was closed and I was ok with that. I didn't see it at first. I made eye contact with the cashier, just to let him know 'my bad,' but as we locked eyes, he grimaced with contempt and literally shook his head with an exaggerated, "NO!." I could not believe how rude his reaction was. He could have simply said, "I'm sorry, we're closing this isle down," and it would have been all good. To scoff at me and shake your head no while saying nothing was unnecessary. But this is how it is with EVERY associate in this store. They 100% ALL act this way towards customers. This is a direct reflection of the poor leadership of management. I have filled out multiple surveys you'll get in your email asking how your recent shopping trip went. Once, I accidentally responded thinking I was filling out the survey for the Swartz Creek location, when it was actually for the Hill Rd. location. A manager from Hill Rd emailed me within hours to address my concerns and let me know the survey was for the wrong store, but that they would forward my bad report to the SC location. As you can expect, I never heard back from anyone at Swartz Creek. Even after filling out a dozen surveys of having bad experiences there, I've never heard back once. But obviously, the store receives them because another location responded same day. I'm contacting corporate about this location. They need to clean...
Read moreThis was my first visit to the Morrish Road Meijer's store in Swartz Creek and it was a very positive experience. The purpose of this visit was to purchase two dozen decorated cupcakes for the ladies who work at the Flint Karmanos Cancer Treatment Center in celebration of Mother's Day. My wife was with me as she is better at ordering such things and knows how to assure us of a successful purchase. As we reviewed the many and varied examples of cakes and other baked goods, my wife commented on how beautifully they were decorated, and I had to agree. We were greeted by a friendly young man within seconds of stepping to the counter. His smile was genuine and we felt he was glad to be serving us as he asked how he could could be of help. I explained the need for two dozen cupcakes decorated for Mother's Day with buttercream frosting but had no idea what colors to select. He recommended half purple and half pink which I thought was a good idea but upon seeing what the colors would look like my wife asked if they could be lighter such as lavender and a soft pink. The young man deferred this question to an elderly lady who reminded me of the quintessential grandmother. She was busy expertly decorating a cake and never looking up from her work, told him that was possible. I then asked to have them ready by 3 PM the following day which the decorator also assured him could be done.
Upon returning the following day, they were ready as promised and looked terrific. The cost of a mere $16 was also a pleasant surprise. I decided to get a card for the ladies and found a wide variety of Mother's Day cards of very good quality which surprised me being within three days of the holiday.
Upon delivering the cupcakes to the cancer center, the ladies were overjoyed and I'm told they tasted very good.
Based upon this experience I would highly recommend this bakery for the quality of the decorating, the flavor of the product we purchased, their flexibility in producing a large order on short notice, and the friendliness of the young man who...
Read moreMeijer is by far the best place I have ever gone shopping at when you want to get a variety of things and have a choice of name brands and a great selection! They have a beautiful garden center with a selection of plants, garden flowers and fresh flowers that are gorgeous! Clothing for the whole family with a variety of sizes and styles. Things ]for the house including the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, throw pillows and more! Personal care products, toothpaste, perfume, deodorant and so much more! A pharmacy, car parts, home improvement, toys, sporting goods and even any kind of food to take camping, to a potluck, picnics and parties galore! A produce department that looks like a garden for a king and a meat department that is as fresh as the slaughterhouse for the pope. As you can see, my family loves this establishment and it is the only place that we really shop at for anythingl Of course, we can't go car shopping there, unless we are looking at Hot Wheels for our grandson! We can shop at Meijer every day and easily two or three hours pass quickly! Unlike the major competitor, Meijer is clean, organized, friendly, is very community orientated without having to brag and advertise it! It is a true, family store that was started by a hard working family!! Just like other retailers far and wide, across this country, this store usually runs smooth, but every now and then they hit a glitch. That proves they are just like the rest of the world . . . human! Mistakes happen and they do everything possible to correct errors! So if you have never been to Meijer, stop in and see what I mean, it is a pleasant place to visit and if a problem occurs, pull up your boot straps, take a deep breath and...
