To be honest, the range facilities are not bad. The problem with this establishment is the customer service, and the piss poor quality of the ammunition they sell (which is also way over-priced). The ammunition they sell is in a box with their name on it. It appears to be their house brand reloads, or maybe they purchase these reloads/re-manufactured bullets from another supplier. Specifically I have had multiple issues with their 9x19mm house brand ammo. The cast lead bullets are not seated properly and cause dangerous malfunctions by causing the bullet to contact the rifling upon being chambered in certain firearms. This causes the round to lodge itself into the barrel and you cannot rack the slide back to clear it unless you use a tremendous amount of force and extreme caution due to the LIVE ROUND STUCK IN THE CHAMBER.
I have had this same issue occur in multiple firearms including a Sig p226, Kel tec pf9, S&W SD9, and a couple others. When I compared the round's measurements with my own reloads, and factory loaded rounds, it was evident that the bullets were seated too far out. My friend recently bought another box from them and upon loading the FIRST ROUND the gun completely locked up. He attempted to return the defective ammunition and they refused to give him a refund. When he pointed out that the rounds are re-manufactured, they tried to claim the were "new". He then pointed out that every headstamp on every round was from a different manufacturer. Funny, i had no clue that "new" rounds from a no-name manufacturer just happen to use blazer, winchester, cci, and federal headstamps. Gosh maybe they like giving free advertising to their competitors!
Honestly, the only reason I went out of my way to write this review is due to their unsafe house brand ammo. On a side note, its hilarious that they inspect your ammo before using their range when the one they sell poses a safety hazard by being out of spec. I guess they're more worried about tula ammo's .005 millimeter thick bi-metal jacket damaging their backstop than they are about a customer accidentally getting injured clearing a malfunction caused by their wonderful house brand ammo! FYI guys, selling something re-manufactured that's clearly not fit for its intended purpose and trying to pass it off as "new" is not only unethical, but is also fraudulent. A lawsuit from someone injured as a result of your house brand ammo will be alot more expensive than the damage caused to your backstop from tula ammo.
EDIT: The owner of this establishment wrote a response to my review. I would like to point out the flaws in his response, starting with that he does not appear to know the difference between a shell casing, and a projectile jacket (quite sad for someone in the firearms business, really). The "jacket" of a projectile does not fall right to the ground when you shoot it, that would be a shell casing. A jacket is the copper/bimetal plating that is swagged onto the "projectile" and as such goes flying out of the barrel because it is permanently bonded to the lead core of the bullet. He seems to think that somehow the steel shell casings of tula-ammo are "hazardous waste". Please, do explain how a recyclable metal with no toxic properties is "hazardous waste"?
The firearm in which you tested these ten projectiles happened to be a Glock. The rifling in a Glock barrel does not begin right at the end of the chamber, there is a slight gap hence why the rounds did not get stuck in that specific firearm. Your implication that I or some other person would switch out the ammunition in the box for another type is preposterous. You even admitted to having previously sold cast lead ammunition. Oh and properly holding a firearm has nothing to do with a round being stuck in the chamber and unable to be extracted. That is a result of your crap-tastic ammunition with its lead projectiles that were improperly loaded. As a business owner you should stand by your product and accept responsibility if it is defective.
All said, I bid you...
Read moreWalked in looking for ammo. .223 and .300 blk, was given an option of $25 per box of pmz gold fmj-bt which is normally a 13-15 dollar box all day long even at another store I frequent. I wanted to give this small store a chance and the second I walked in I was treated as if I knew nothing. When asking about the ammo (how I gauge what I should expect on pricing on other items) the guy immediately starts ringing the boxes up and asking how I'd like to pay. Sorry I was expecting to look around more for items for three builds I'm working on to spend more money in store but ok, so once I heard the $25/ box I thought that was the 300 blackout but it was the normally 13-15 dollar box and the 300blk was 35 bucks! Wow what a rip off! I'm not going to suggest where else to go but these guys aren't doing folks right just on price alone. If they make folks buy cheap ammo at an above premium price who knows what else they are scamming others on. Who pays hourly for range time? Never heard of that. This place must still be in business because the folks who shop here don't know there's better places to shop with more respectful and polite people with way better pricing. Not like cheap pricing but actual realistic MSRP and not price gouging and selling ammo that retails for 13-15 bucks for $25. That same exact ammo I can buy with no dealer discount for 8.99 online with...
Read moreGreat place to bring the whole family out to shoot! I really enjoyed shooting there it was a safe environment the team there is extremely helpful and watchful for a no non sense range. If you're new to shooting or an old pro who knows it all this is the place to go! I enjoyed not having to go cold or hot and walking up and down a unsafe range with inexperienced shooters. The target slides up and down with the push of a toggle switch and everything is ready to go for you. I would not be concerned with over prices on ammo or mark up! I would not buy ammo from wal mart just because it's a few dollars cheaper! I would support local business rather then wal mart like seriously!! Go there buy your ammo bring the family it's the best in...
