Carter's Ace Hardware of Tavares — Local services in Tavares

Was looking for hanging wire for a picture. This store has been rearranged in the last year and things are much harder to locate than before. The first associate must have been new because they didn’t know where picture wire was and proceeded to ask other associates on her headset for help. She couldn’t understand because she said everyone was talking over each other. After being directed to the main isle with her to find someone else another man from the back approached and said very aggressively we’re picture items were located. This is where the interaction went south quick. I came into this ACE HARDWARE with a very specific item I was looking for. These associates need to listen to what is being asked. I never asked where the picture framing items were I specifically asked where the wire was. Instead of walking me to the wire the male associate flared their arms in the way of the items refusing to help me locate it. When I asked him what his problem was he just walked away. That led to about a 5 minute’s conversation with the manager who has personally helped me locate items before. He agreed that the integration shouldn’t have happened and apologized. I informed him I would be leaving a review. Most of the associates of this store have great customer service skills but good luck if you get a bad one. I do my best to support local but from now on I’ll just buy anything I would buy from ACE from AMAZON instead. Cheaper than ACE and...

I'm guilty for not shopping more at our local Ace Hardware that is located just less then a mile from my house. I am motivated to write this review because Ace exceeded my expectations.

I needed to fix my leaking Moen single handle tub faucet. I needed a cartridge remover tool to remove it. I called Ace to see if they carried the cartridge to prevent me from driving the extra 3 plus miles to the home improvement store. The man over the phone said they carried a few in stock and if I needed the cartridge remover there was no need to buy it. He asked me to drive on down and he would loan it to me. What a LIFE SAVER! This was the best news as I didn't want to buy a tool I wouldn't use again soon. They also had the correct cartridge replacement for my faucet. Nelio (employee) was VERY helpful in showing me in the store where the cartridge was located and offered some extra advice that was very useful. This was my first time fixing a leaking tub faucet. Ace, $38 for the part and my time is all I needed to prevent a call to the plumber.

10/10 service cutting and programming my car key. From the moment I spoke with them over the phone to actually coming in for the service they were incredibly friendly and helpful. Robert was outstanding; he was so kind and attentive and really took his time making sure everything was perfect. Mark and Ken were also great; Ken finished the job for us and Mark actually brought me a cold bottle of water while I was standing outside in the heat waiting!! These gentlemen were extremely thoughtful and just amazing. There was also a young man who helped me in the beginning but I didn’t catch his name, also super friendly and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this place; they did the job for a fraction of the cost others wanted to charge and really delivered exceptional service....
