The power line to our home was damaged by a tree fall in inclement weather this evening, and we had no electricity. The contractor fixing the damage contacted Held Electric, just a few blocks away from our home, to purchase replacement equipment. They couldn't be bothered to send someone to reopen the store for a few moments, so instead we had to go to someone 45 minutes out of town. Now, both our contractor and the city linemen will be stuck working into the early hours of the morning in horrid weather to restore our service hours after it could've been completed. I know we weren't the only home with power loss tonight, so I'm sure others in Perry County will have similar stories.
