This place has turned into a NIGHTMARE! I’ve had a bad experience before, then they seemed to improve and wanted to give the place another chance, but on Sunday September 3, 2023, the day before Labor Day, I took my two dogs for grooming at 12:00 noon. A maltipoo and a terrier mix. One was for grooming and haircut, the other just grooming and “tidy up” which is included in the grooming fee.
At 4:30 I called to see if they were ready. The receptionist (Lisa or Elisa) told me they were not ready until 5:30 but they would be closing at 5:00 so I needed to pay online. I decided to go and pay in person and wait for them. They were still working on the maltipoo, and the receptionist asked me to pay for grooming and haircut for both dogs. I asked why since there was only one for a full cut. They had made a mistake and gave the terrier a very short haircut which I didn’t want! The receptionist told me that she didn’t know what happened, that that’s what I told her over the phone (which was a lie because I had to be there in person to drop them off and specifically said “tidy up only”) She responded, “well, I don’t know what happened, besides, that’s what you asked last time”. I said I would only pay for one regular grooming and one grooming with haircut (which was the right thing). I had to leave and come back at 5:30 because they were not ready. When I got back at 5:30 pm the door was closed, I couldn’t get in. Around 5:50 pm waiting outside, two girls brought them out. They started apologizing and I, thinking it was the haircut, I said, “I guess it was not your fault, you were just following instructions from the receptionist” but then she said, “no, it’s because we cut your maltipoo’s tongue (nick) while grooming her, I think it was when she turned to see you” – I said “when? I was not even inside, I had to wait outside! – She said, “well, she turned to see somebody, and her tongue was nicked, the shears are very sharp, nothing I could do!” At that moment I just took my dogs and left. Her face was stained with blood. Luckily, I was able to stop the bleeding at home after a while. I would have been too difficult to find a vet on a Sunday afternoon, the day before Labor Day!
LAST TIME I TAKE MY DOGS THERE!...
Read moreThis is the worst place ever!! The staff is checked out and act as if they don't care. Dropped my two dogs off for 2 day boarding and wow what a horrible mistake that was. Checked the room camera frequently and only saw the dogs leave once for a few minutes. These "luxury theme" rooms are small.
On their website in the top right corner they advertise " unlimited play time for VIP and Themed suites" this is not true at all. I called the second day to ask why my dogs where inside all day. I was put on hold for 5 minutes and then told they did not have time to answer my questions and would call me back?? I received a call 40 min later?? and when I asked them about it they had explained that they didn't know why the website said that and the dogs are only let out a few times a day, for a few minutes each time. The woman answering the phone had said that at their old location had unlimited play time but since their so busy it's almost impossible to accommodate "70 +" dogs in the facility because they don't have enough staff for that.
When we picked up the dogs, both dog beds were soaked with urine! Also my dogs were covered in urine as well. When I questioned them about this they acted as if they didn't know. I asked why this could have happened and she explained that there is NO staff what so ever from 7pm to 7am!!! I picked my dogs up around 1pm so nothing had been done regarding the urine on the beds or dogs all day. So basically your dog is unattended to and covered in their own urine. All animals are left alone in a completely vacant building for 12 hours... Unacceptable!
So for a place that is very overpriced$$, your dog is locked up, laying in their own bodily fluids, no exercise , and unattended to. This is far from "luxury ".
And one last thing: as I was leaving the facility I noticed two large poodles In a Open large play area and when I asked how those two dogs got such a large area all to themselves the women's response was " oh those are Ambers poodles" wow...
Read moreIf I could give Zero Stars I would. My Min Pin stayed at Amber's pet hotel for 3 days July 9 to July 11, 2015. When I picked her up she had a substance on her back. Over a 3 day period it went from the size of 50 cent piece to her entire back. I called Ambers on July 13th and the manager said that owners were gone for a month and they couldn't be reached. They tried to send me to the vet on the 14th but their vets were all closed, I went in the morning to their vet on July 15th. My Min Pin spent 2 days in their care. They needed to immediately sedate her due to excruciating debilitating pain. She hadn't eaten since I picked her up from Amber's & she was lethargic and looked like she was dying. She had to be sedated, soaked & shaved. It looked like chemical burns had started eating her flesh away. Her once mink like shiny black fur was gone. We were devastated especially our 10 year old son as it is his Peanut girl. When I went to pick her up Amber's manager refused to do anything because the owners where unavailable. I got stuck with the bill. I called Ambers Several times but no owners anywhere. Management promised as soon as they returned they would reach out to me. Well it has been almost 2 months and I haven't heard a peep. They haven't even checked on her well being. I am completely disturbed by this my dog is still recovering. Her entire back is scarred & her beautiful fur isn't returning the same. I highly recommend you find a reputable dog hotel with component staff. There were other mix ups as well when they had teenagers bring out my dogs upon pick up. My large dog had a spiked pinch choker collar on that no way would we ever use on our 8 month old puppy and they had the wrong leash on him as well. If I could attach pictures to the...
