I'll begin with - I live in a gated community and there is no soliciting. Anyone in our neighborhood going door to door is here illegally. I'll go on to say, I should have known better..... We were outside and were approached by a courteous young man who worked for ecoshield. He was young and working hard. Kind of reminded me...of me at that age. I decided to hear him out. I had 2 mud dauber nests on my house and was told by this young man that his company could spray an all natural essential oil (or something to that effect) to keep the mud dauber nests away. The spray really did smell good. I thought we were off to a good start. 3 weeks later - I went from 2 to 13 mud dauber nests. Anyone who has dealt with these knows that they ruin walls, paint, etc. I called to complain and say this wasn't what I signed up for and I'd like to cancel my service. The people you speak to when you call are clearly overseas. (try calling yourself before signing any agreements) They offered me a discount.... I didn't want a discount. I wanted the mud dauber nests gone. Then they said they'd come and spot treat. My response - pressure wash the mud dauber nests that showed up since I signed the agreement and I'll give your company another chance again. Otherwise, cancel. The rep sad they spoke to the local office and they would come and wash the nests off and then spot treat. Then the rep also said that it was summer time and the wasp activity was strong this time of year. I told her we've lived in this house for 12 years and never seen anything like this. 12 summers of supposed increased wasp activity but somehow, someway this was a special year. I told my wife I think they're putting oxycontin in the stuff they're spraying and getting the mud daubers addicted. They're all coming to our house to party.... and for their fix lol. As I said - they agreed to send someone out, clean off the mud dauber nests and re-treat. They did come out to spot treat (at least that's what the email said). They never knocked on my door to discuss the issues, nor did they clean the nests. When we received the initial treatment it smelled of essential oil, kind of eucalyptus. After the "spot treatment" - no smell whatsoever. I called again to cancel and I was charged an early termination fee of $250. (That will cost me less than having to hire someone to remove the mud of my walls for the next year). I was told by the EcoShield representative (aka the woman from the other side of the world) that I signed the agreement and knew about the early termination fee. Yes, but EcoShield also gave me their word that the mud daubers would be gone. They didn't follow up on their end of the deal and I paid for it. I went to take photos and lo and behold there was a mud dauber right there making another nest!!! I think that thing was shooting me a bird when I took the picture. The way I see it, is I received a service.... good or bad, I should pay for that service. No problem with that. The problem I have is paying an early termination fee when the service I was getting was making the problem worse. Not good business EcoShield.

I wish I was given the option to give 0 stars, but unfortunately I can’t. EcoShield is the absolute WORST pest control company I’ve ever signed up with. We decided to sign up a few months ago from a door-to-door neighborhood sign up campaign. Our first treatment was OK. Our second treatment was when we realized that we were having more issues than we’ve ever had. We started seeing various cockroach species, millions of sugar ants, and earwigs throughout our home. I immediately called to inquire about an additional treatment before our next quarterly service. The technician arrived to our home, rang the door bell, and didn’t even wait a minute for us to answer the door before he got back in his truck and left. EcoShield tried to deny this complaint but we have a Ring doorbell that captured everything. Once again, I called back to schedule another urgent service appointment and requested a different technician. Another technician came out. He was inside for about 5 minutes or less. Didn’t speak much of the ants or roaches we were experiencing. To treat the sugar ants, he laid down RAT TRAPS instead. Absolutely diabolical service appointment. The videos and photos I’m attaching to this review were taken the same day as this review. I am absolutely appalled and CANCELLING my service ASAP. EcoShield really needs to hire someone who is knowledgeable and reliable instead of these mediocre techs who blindly treat ants with something that isn’t even made to treat ants. We decided to purchase our own means of pest management with ant specific treatment to hopefully prevent the ongoing issues we’ve had. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! Charging almost $200 quarterly for this type of joke of a pest control company. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM AND IF YOU DO, YOU’LL REGRET IT!

5/6/25 update review after having worked with ecoshield pest solutions for a few months now:

PROS: the techs do a good job and clean up behind any mess they make during their visit (clean up comment was mainly for my exclusion services).

CONS: They are TERRIBLE at communication. First of all, if you call the number listed everywhere, it takes you to their call center. Be sure to click 8 as soon as you hear the operator start talking so it will transfer you over to the local office. None of the call center people would tell me this until I finally got one who did. They all said they couldn’t transfer me over and that they had to communicate with the office to contact me. I’m not the type to complain about a service, and I usually only like to write good reviews; however, I felt compelled to leave this because of the frustrating experiences I’ve had with this company over the last few months now. After the initial service I had done, I had their “inspector”, who I was later informed was a salesman, come out and “inspect” entry points, etc. He recommended us two things off the inspection, which we gladly agreed to (spent $2250 on it, but we wanted it done and it was a decent price). He was very nice, but after his initial visit we couldn’t get ahold of him to complete the adding of the service. Eventually got it done w/ the office once we could reach them. Exclusion service - techs did great job, but the pics they uploaded to account of the job were blurry and random things like a chair, table. Like accidental pics. I called the office and they sent him back out to take actual pics of the service he completed. I’ve had two occurrences where the company has “no call no showed” to complete a service. It wasn’t until I called the office that it was notified to me being rescheduled to a different day/time. Both occurrences they said the techs had an emergency meeting and that’s why no one came, but then why was this not communicated to the customer who had a scheduled service as soon as this “emergency meeting” was called? It’s extremely frustrating when you take time off work to be home for services that were previously scheduled to be completed, and then no one shows or even calls. UNPROFESSIONAL. I do not care about an emergency meeting, I paid for a service. If it were communicated that it needed to be rescheduled because something came up, I would be more understanding. I’m human, I’m aware things come up. That isn’t the issue. The issue is the lack of communication AND resolution from their end. Now on my second occurrence of no call no show, getting in touch with a supervisor has been impossible. They were supposed to come out Friday for a 2 week follow up to the exclusion service I paid $2250 (+ spray inside home. Which they advertise they’ll come out to spray in between your ALREADY PAID FOR bi monthly service if you see activity). They didn’t show. They didn’t call. I’ve called the office twice now asking to speak to a supervisor. The first time was on that Friday the appt was missed. They said they’d have the manager contact me. No call back friday. No call back Monday. Today is Tuesday and I call and they’re response is the manager was out last week, but that they’ll contact me today. I’ll update once I hear from the supervisor.

First impression review has been removed to create space for the current review so that I can clearly articulate my experience with...
