While in town, instead of stopping at Denny's, Waffle House, or even McDonald's, I decided to give this nice family restaurant a try. Upon entering in, I was immediately acknowledged by all staff member which you will rarely find in a chain like IHOP, etc. Even the cooks made eye contact with me! I asked for a menu and was also shown the specials of the day. I like to observe the foods that are coming out of the kitchen and they looked rather tasty. Though I was only coming for breakfast at 11:30 a.m., I originally had an order of 3 eggs, hashbrown, wheat toast and sausage. I browsed the menu thereafter and then noticed a combo deluxe where I can add pancakes. I asked the Ashley, my waitress if I can upgrade my meal and normally they would not do this because of the timeframe, she kindly asked and the cooks looked at me again and allowed me to have pancakes! That was AWESOME! Breakfast truly can only be judged by if the eggs were correct and if everything was cooked to perfection. IT WAS! Checking out, a gentleman took my payment and kindly had a nice conversation and gave me a brief history of the establishment. In this day, private small owners struggle due to the economic boom of fast food and chain restaurants, but 301 Family Restaurant perserve! I can see why. The SERVICE was the best and that's all that matters these days! I will definitely come back anytime while in this area! Highly...
Read moreBad Bad Bad experience!!! I thought I’d take my lady out for breakfast for a change. We both agreed we would try this spot out. Boy did we make a mistake! We waited over 25min and not one person even asked us for a drink or anything else. The waitress walked by us over 15 times. Nothing! Like we didn’t even exist! Packed like sardines in an extremely small space. Servers don’t even have room to walk. Every server has a bad day there…all the time it seems. Daily. We walked right out! Didn’t say a thing! Took our money to Plumber’s in Seffner and very glad we did. Our food was excellent!!! Soon as we sat down we were acknowledged. No wait. No problems. No excuses. Save yourself the grief and pass up the family restaurant. It really needs torn down because it’s just to small and not enough help. Not enough room and no money to fix it. Tear it down already! What a joke! Never going there again! Very disappointed to say the least! Not even one star!! No stars for...
Read moreI was in town visiting family and looking for a good breakfast and atmosphere. I didn’t find it here. I stood waiting to be seated while staff just looked at me like I was not there and then who I would guess was regulars came in a bit after me and they rolled out the red carpet for them. I had to interrupt their hellos to ask if I needed to seat myself or would they. I had waffle and sausage patties and home fries and a cup of coffee The sausage patties were so thin I’m sure they only need to be cooked for Two minutes to be done. The waffle tasted like old cooking oil and the home fries were over cooked and cold the coffee was so watered down that one single serve creamer was too much. This is a awful lil hole in the wall you should avoid if you want something satisfying. Next time I will stick with Waffle House or ihop but this place never ever again. I wish I could give negative stars because this place...
