MSA Softball — Local services in Terre Haute

June 2024. Not impressed.

Spent $20 a person for a tournament pass ($120 for 6 of us). For what the facility is this is place is a rip off. Why any team would go here for a tournament is beyond me!

The entire facility needs an update. Bathrooms were completely disgusting. The urinal was plugged (filled to the rim with p......) all day long which left one bathroom stall for everyone to share. No TP either! There were porta-pots, but for a $20 entry fee -come on!! As far as I could tell no one ever attempted to clean the bathrooms. The woman's bathroom was just as disgusting according to my wife. Stall doors that wouldn't lock. Smelly!

The fields were not in great shape either. The pitchers mounds had big pot holes at the pitchers plate. The coaches continually had to mound up dirt for the players. The fields were never watered down which created a dust bowl the entire day. The infields were almost bare dirt in spots. Chalk lines were never attended too as far as I could tell. I've seen local city park volunteers take better care of their fields.

The environment was very boring as well. No trees = no shade. No room for teams to practice between games. Who designed this facility?

Not enough netting to protect people from foul balls. The netting that was present was loose or had holes in it. The structures are showing their age as well.

The only positive thing is that the food isn't way over priced.

I hope we never have to attend another tournament...

The gate staff was extremely rude and did not equally enforce the "no cooler" rule. When I pointed out that I could see 10 coolers while standing next to the gate, I was told that they couldn't do anything about that. The entire park smells like it sits inside of a cesspool. Worst ballpark I've...

Honey Creek could have been competing for the regional this year but somebody figuratively and literally dropped the ball. I guess we will never know how far this Honey Creek varsity softball team could have...
