If you are looking for a challenge in the San Antonio area and a course that is in outstanding conditions, then look no further. I have recently relocated to the area and am an avid golfer. All I can say, is that I will be back!
Here's my evaluation: Clubhouse - fully stocked and staff very helpful and friendly Warm up area - nice, but you have to hit off of mats vs. turf. There are plenty of stations though and warm up balls were in good condition too. There is a large putting green and it rolled pretty true to real course conditions. I did not see a chipping or bunker area though to practice those critically important shots. Course - All I can say is WOW! - Out of all the courses I have played in the San Antonio area (The Quarry, Olmos Basin, Brackenridge, Golf Club of Texas, La Cantarra, etc) this course is one of the best. I would put it in the same category as the Quarry for conditions and difficulty. Green complexes were as challenging as Olmos Basin. The only negative I would say is that the bunkers were a little rough and there were some overwatered areas near some of the greens (aka - squishy) - but nothing to the point of unplayable. I saw comments about the starter, but the gentleman, David, that started us was friendly and extremely helpful to let us know the conditions and limitations for the day. Refreshments - Saw water cans on multiple holes. Cost for a hotdog and drink was reasonable for a golf course and quality was good too. Hot dog was fresh, bun was soft. I saw a drink cart twice, which was OK. Discounts - They offer military discounts too, but I got my tee time on Golfnow as a hot tee time, so I saved more that way.
Negatives: I saw no marshalls to help pace of play, but those groups that I came up on, playing as a single after the first nine, let me play through and were very friendly. Ended up playing my round in 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Read moreWe used Canyon Springs Golf Club for our wedding ceremony and reception. We used the larger rotunda center for our reception area. We had such an AMAZING experience from start to finish. We initially met with Brenda who is so kind and easy to get along with. She gave us a tour of the area and answered all of our questions, down to the small details! She is very organized and we communicated a lot through email. We had our wedding at the waterfall and it was absolutely gorgeous. Brenda, Sunny, and Chi worked with our vendors to help make sure everyone was on the same page. Chi was our day of banquet coordinator and she was AWESOME. She gave us great advice and was well prepared. Chi made sure my husband and I were able to eat- all the way from the hors d’oeuvres to the main course and even the cake. If it weren’t for her I don’t think we would have had a chance to eat during our wedding!! The food was delicious!! We had an open bar and the drinks were great. Everything was set up exactly how we requested and ended up looking even better than we imagined. We had 155 guests and had more than enough room in the area for dancing. Our favorite part was the fact that we only had to worry about our personal items- set up and tear down/clean up was all done by Chi and her crew. My sister even commented that it was the easiest clean up she had ever been apart of for a wedding! We had SEVERAL people comment how great the food and drinks were, and how beautiful the ceremony was in front of the waterfall. Thank you Brenda, Chi, and Sunny for such an amazing experience!!! I HIGHLY recommend using Canyon Springs as your wedding venue. You will not be...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of playing at Canyon Springs Golf Course and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an exceptional staff who made me feel right at home. The customer service was top-notch and truly added to the overall enjoyment of my round.
The course layout was simply stunning. The natural beauty of the area was perfectly integrated into the design of the course, creating a truly unique golfing experience. The fairways were challenging but fair, and the greens were in impeccable condition. I was thoroughly impressed by the attention to detail put into maintaining the course, it truly showed in the quality of the playing surface.
As a golfer who values a challenging course, I was not disappointed by the difficulty of the layout. The variety of hole designs kept me engaged throughout the entire round, and the strategic use of bunkers and water hazards added a level of difficulty that I thoroughly enjoyed.
But what really stood out to me was the incredible staff. Everyone I interacted with, from the pro shop to the on-course attendants, was friendly, professional, and truly passionate about making my experience as enjoyable as possible. Their knowledge of the course, coupled with their genuine enthusiasm for the game, made for a truly memorable round of golf.
In short, if you're looking for a golf course that offers a challenging yet fair layout, impeccable conditions, and an outstanding staff, then look no further than Canyon Springs Golf Course. I cannot recommend this course highly enough and can't wait to play another...
