As far as TPC San Antonio and the golf. We booked a gold package which was for two rounds. When we checked in for our first round, the gentleman working in the pro shop was cold, distant and far less than welcoming. We had a group of three playing, and he made us feel as though we simply didn’t belong. I have to admit it was very off-putting. Everyone else we encountered was polite and provided top notch service, all the way from the bag service to the starter were excellent. It was just the man working in the pro shop that soured the time for us. Outside of this it would have been nice to know ahead of time that they had holes closed due to bunker renovations, but if you play enough golf, you know things like that happen. It is a shame because playing a course like this should be a wonderful experience (especially at $275) but instead our initial interaction with anyone from TPC San Antonio was a negative one. On our second day it was a different gentleman working was extremely welcoming and friendly. Exactly what we would have hoped for.

Overall, TPC San Antonio is a fantastic golf course with two great courses (I actually think the Canyons, while a few strokes easier, is a prettier course due to the elevation changes than the Oaks course, which is where the pros play) that I would highly recommend to anyone, just hope you don’t encounter the same man we did in...

Absolutely horrible played July 22nd 2024. First off the tee box. Sorry.. can’t warm up the range is closed. No biggie, but hit the first hole and the fairway was a disaster. Huge clumps of grass clippings everywhere. Literally can’t tell the difference between the rough and the fairway. GPS stopped after hole 2. At the turn the starter was super nice and professional, rebooted the GPS. He agreed the course looked terrible, wasn’t sure why they didn’t blow the clumps of grass off the fairway. Made the turn, GPS locked up again on 12. Lots of workers sitting around with their phones up their butts. Good news it was only $350. Expressed my opinions to anyone that would listen, but they didn’t seem to care. Then when I jumped in my truck to leave I was told I parked in the wrong area…even though I was told to park there by the hotel valet. I should have slept in. I’m sure they won’t respond or acknowledge this terrible review because they just don’t care. Just close the place so it’s members only, so you can all pat yourselves ...

I recently played TPC San Antonio and left feeling pretty underwhelmed given the high green fee of $350. For that price, I expected a more memorable experience and better service overall.

The arrival was anticlimactic, no sense of welcome or excitement, and the practice facility felt average at best. The restaurant was closed, so there was nowhere to grab a bite before the round other than some snacks. Other than the staff in the golf shop, the service throughout was minimal and didn’t match what you’d expect from a top-tier resort course.

Course conditions were good, but the layout itself didn’t feel particularly special or memorable compared to other courses I’ve played in this price range. Honestly, the entire experience felt more like a $125–$150 round than a $350 destination round.

I think many golfers come here expecting a ‘PGA Tour level’ experience and walk away disappointed, like I did. If you’re planning to play here, just know you’re paying a premium mostly for the TPC name and not necessarily for a standout...

The field and greens are awesome and challenging to play. Love coming over here from time to time!

This place doesn't disappoint. Staff friendly and accommodating. Played The Oaks course which whe was in great condition, even with the work being done to change the sands on the bunkers to sparkling white sand. And a few greens not being 100% The course is slow build to a spectacular back nine. Deep bunkers all around , hard greens to read, lost of suttle movement and undulating. Its sneaky long, you feel like your always 175-200yds out. Its a must play if you get the opportunity. I will be back and redeem myself after beating I took.
