Service staff paying zero attention, not hearing orders, wiping their faces and coughing into hands then immediately getting back to serving drinks. Disgusting.

Non alcoholic drinks only Pepsi products, which is normally fine. What's not fine is when it's so poorly calibrated it comes out tasting like flat syrup. It doesn't help that the paper straw they use falls apart before you finish a drink, collapsing to shreds as you attempt to drink the sludge.

French fries soft and mushy fresh from the microwave taste, covered up with powdered parmesan cheese product, and I don't know if it's my messed up taste buds from the Pepsi sludge but something was weird with the "heinz" ketchup.

Finally, the boneless wings. Ordered with Korean BBQ sauce (marked the least spicy option) and bleu cheese. Received with all the sauce on the left half of the chicken not evenly distributed, and ranch dressing. The kbbq sauce was lacking in any flavor except the soybean paste that overwhelmed it then way too much heat on the backend. I'd put it at 4/10 spice, way too much for a places low end. For reference much spicier than Buffalo wild wings 'asian zing' sauce which is like a 2.5/10. Eventually when I finally got the bleu cheese I asked for initially, it was literally closer in texture to paint primer. Same viscosity, same smooth texture, same coating ability to cover the color of something else, and same flavor. I really just don't think there was any bleu cheese used in the production of this product.

And they charged me $25 before tax/tip for the privilege of this wonderful prison...

I had a wonderful 5 day stay at the resort.. But, this restaurant is up and down on food and service.. The food was ok, not Marriott, like exceptions . The lady Manger came and made it right, which was great as we didn't get charged for a certain plate we ordered. Later on at night I went to play pool with my son. I wanted a craft beer. I had the bad opportunity to meet the bar, keep named Luke. Before any words were exchanged, he was already giving me the stink eye. So I ignored it, ordered my beer, and with his rude service, I made up my mind not to leave a tip.. So, I did tap pay to close out quickly cause other people were waiting to play pool also. I paid, and I told Luke I don't a receipt. This is when he got ugly and said in a racist tone this a resort, and we give receipts . So I need my receipt. Yes, this the bar keeps talking. So, as a brown man I took like, wow, this guy's thinks I am just visiting and can't afford to stay here. That was very racist towards me as a brown man. 1 apple spoils the bunch. One thing of the resort was that there were all walks of life having fun and being very respectful. Luke deserves to be relocated or let go cause there is no place for his type of energy in the Marriott universe.. It's sucks writing this cause u don't want to be that person. It must be told that this type of behavior should have no place in an establishment where the consumer pays top dollar at every corner of this resort. Happy...

The atmosphere at this venue is fantastic for watching a game. We visited during a Texas game, and the energy in the place was electric, making for an enjoyable experience. The crowd was animated and engaged, which added to the overall excitement. However, the service left something to be desired. Although the staff was clearly busy, the wait times were longer than expected, and the level of friendliness could have been improved.

My husband tried the wings and found them to be just okay—nothing particularly special about them. I opted for the nachos, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. They did not meet our expectations, especially given the lively environment that surrounded us.

Despite the food issues, the vibrant atmosphere and the thrill of being among fellow fans made our visit memorable. It’s a great place to soak in the excitement of the game, even if the culinary offerings don't quite match the high energy of the crowd. With a bit of improvement in service and food quality, this venue could truly become a go-to spot for game days. We hope to return in the future, perhaps to catch a different game, and see if our experience improves. Overall, it’s worth a visit for the atmosphere alone, but be prepared for some potential hiccups with...

High Velocity, the sports bar within the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa, is certainly impressive in terms of size and the sheer number of screens. The wraparound display is a fantastic feature, perfect for catching any sporting event. We were there for the Super Bowl, and while the atmosphere was buzzing, our experience was unfortunately marred by the seating situation. Despite being resort guests and arriving specifically for the game, we were never able to get a table even though we got there an hour plus before the game. We endured a very long wait, and while we were told we could sit at the bar with the promise of a table eventually, that never materialized. It was particularly frustrating to see multiple open tables throughout the night, only to be told they weren't available. These tables then filled up with other patrons, leaving us stuck at the bar for the entire game, which was quite uncomfortable. It's disappointing, especially since we were staying at the resort and chose High Velocity specifically for the Super Bowl. While the bar itself is visually impressive, the seating management on a busy night clearly needs improvement.
