This was recommended to me by someone who I ate next to at a community table. I went online and checked it out. Seemed fun, I had time to kill while waiting for my other half to finish a class he was taking. You should book it fast. When I first looked the first time was available but on returning to book ten minutes later it was fully booked and I couldnāt push the button. However the owner told me Incase of one or two people still call. They might be able to accommodate. So I booked for the 3:30 time with an asked arrival of thirty minutes before. When I arrived the sky was looking pretty angry. I checked in the owner asked if I wanted to come back tomorrow. I told him I was leaving to go back home right after the ride so I wouldnāt be able to come back. He then told me if he had to cancel I would get a full refund however he was hoping the storm was going to just blow through. After waiting more than an hour we were able to go. While waiting he had things for people to do. Games like giant checkers etc. animals to interact with. Snacks, and tv. He did a great job keeping us updated on the storm. They have a potbelly pig named (pork chop) several birds and snakes. As a special treat when you get back from your ride you get to hold a baby alligator and get picture taken with your own camera. They put a rubber band over itās mouth for safety. The captain was friendly and did a good job. The ride was fun and I highly recommend this activity to all ages. I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointed with the Experience and Customer Service We booked an airboat ride for a group of 10ā7 adults and 3 kids. Upon arrival, we were informed that our youngest needed a life jacket, which we completely understood. Unfortunately, she had a panic attack and we had to stay back with her. Then, just after departure(not even 5 minutes in), our middle child got sick, and the captain turned the boat around and brought us back to the dock. In the end, only 5 adults and 1 child went on the ride. When we spoke to the manager, David, to ensure we were only charged for the actual number of people who went on the boat, he refused and insisted that there are no refunds. That policy was never mentioned beforehand. He claimed he could have filled the rest of the boat, but no one else was there at the time we boarded, so that explanation didnāt make sense. The overall attitude of the staff left a lot to be desiredāthey were unfriendly and borderline rude when our daughter was upset. While the captain did his best in a difficult situation, the lack of empathy and poor customer service from the rest of the team was disappointing. We expected a more professional and accommodating experience, especially for a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've done this ride with Midway twice now. Once in 2019 (saw 100s of gators) and again in 2022. Both times were enjoyable. The guide is a kind man who makes many jokes, we did the normal 1 hour ride, and had a chance to see a lot of wildlife. We saw a bird catch a catfish, and an alligator sitting quite near some cattle. Our tour was around 11.30 am in the morning. Sadly, Porkchop was not well when we went to see him so we do hope he recovers. Would recommend doing the tour. Just know that the amount of wildlife you see isn't guaranteed, but your guide will do his best to help you see animals on the ride. He also takes a few photos of you in the boat which is a nice gesture. At the end you can hold some smaller gators for a photo. My husband and I had a lovely time here. Remember to tip him too when the ride is over. Take water, sunblock, and hold tight to your things during the ride! Lastly, you can kill two birds with one stone here as Fort Christmas is just a 10 minute drive from Midway. If you like history you can complete this airboat ride first, and then head over there to see some houses built in the 1800s (this attraction is FREE). That's how we spent our day and it was...
