Seth gave us a great airboat ride. This is the second time we have taken a ride with Seth, and we chose him again because of the great experience we had the first time. This trip was even better. Seth is a great tour guide. He has a wealth of information about the local wildlife, both animal and plant, and knows where to go to show you unusual things you would not normally see. On both trips, we’ve seen bald eagles. The first time the river was high enough to go to the site of an active nest. On the second trip, we saw an eagle in a tree, which we watched soar for a while upon our approach. The second time, we went out for the ride on a warm spring day just after noon. Since it was warm there were alligators on the banks at every turn for a long stretch. Seth stops at points along the ride, where he turns the motor off and he points out and explains various animals, plants and trees. Seth also is very knowledgeable with the history of the St. John’s River and surrounding area. He tells how the river was used in the past by native Americans, and early settlers. If you like nature and want to see wildlife in their natural settings, you are not going to find anything like this airboat ride for a great experience. Every season you go out, you will see different things, because different plants may be blooming, different animals and birds are predominant, and different areas can be reached based on the height of the river...

Captain Seth was such a pleasure to have as our guide and this was not even the extent of all the gators we saw that day, but a vast percentage of these clips came from a single video and I still have more to go through. Captain Seth has extensive knowledge of the area as he not only grew up there, but he is also raising his family, and uses the surrounding land for sustainability. We got to learn about his swamp soup amongst many other things, like the secrets that lie beneath the lands, how locals come together to care for the acreage so everyone can still prosper off of it, and so much more. I highly recommend if you're in Christmas, Florida to book a tour with Captain Seth because it'll be nothing but a good ole time.

As Florida natives we've been airboating many times with both friends and commercial operations. Switchgrass Outfitters was THE BEST experience we've had. Captain Seth was a wealth of knowledge about Florida flora and fauna, history and development. The ride was thrilling but not scary. We experienced the incredible versatility of an airboat over water AND land, stopped as often as we liked for wildlife viewing and photos. The 90 minute tour sounds like a long time - until you start "flying" across the water, then you will not want to ever stop. DO NOT take one of the "cattle boats." You WILL NOT be disappointed in Switchgrass Outfitters interesting tour or zippy boat. Airboating is one of the most exhilarating rides you will ever take. Everyone should experience it.
