Me and my family came to this community for a weekend get away for my fiance's birthday. We rented a cabin at 310 in Arrowhead lake, PA on 01/25/2019. When we got to the cabin the driveway that was supposed to be cleaned had no salt. Steep incline leads to the house. We had to get out and walk up to the cabin without slipping and skidding on the ground. We decided to put the items inside the house after a 2 and a half hour drive. We decided to travel about 23 mins to the nearest Walmart in order to get salt for the driveway. Then travel all the way back to the cabin just so that we could park our vehicle safely in the driveway out of the road. All while reaching out to the owners where they immediately stated hey we can't control the weather. And stated we had someone come and clean but did not offer and kind of empathy about the situation. After staying in the cabin 01/25-01/27 we cleaned the house and left it in the same state if not better since the house was properly cleaned when we left. Now after checking out we let the owners know that we were all done and the house cleaned. We later received a nasty text saying. You burned my counter top and tried to hide it with my microwave. We then responded we are not aware of anyone moving a microwave for any reason nor did we burn the counter top and hide it with a microwave. They send us a pic and said if you would have just told us it would have been fine but since you hid it under the microwave it's not. Me and my family were puzzled especially since no one in the house moved anything let alone the microwave that was in the same spot when we came into the home. It is next to the fridge on the left on the countertop plugged and not bothering anyone. When question we asked if this kind of practice was common for them in order get our security deposit for damage that was supposedly done to the home. I've heard of fraud like this happening but never thought it would happen to us. Now I am waiting to find out what will happen since they are falsely claiming we damaged there home when we did absolutely nothing wrong. We are debating on whether legal action needs to take place or if writing this will stop the people from defrauding customers out of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked a house for the weekend and the renters were great but we had an incident and the community employees made me feel so unwelcomed! My friends and I stepped out on that Saturday to go snow tubing and when we returned, one of the gate cards that was provided to us was not working. We pushed the ācall for assistanceā button at the turnstile about 20 different times, to the point where we just had to park to the side and figure out the next move. We did not want to do the 15 min drive to the rental office because thatās ABSURD, so we had one of other friends, with another gate key let us in. I kid you not, within the next 5 minutes of making it back to our house for the weekend, an employee came with an OFFICER, DEMANDING to see our gate keys and confirm that we actually belong in the community. This had me flabbergasted as they claimed that they were dispatched because the gate key was flagged for some suspicious reason but they werenāt available when I was calling for help about 20 different times. In conclusion, I did not feel welcome, safe and I actually felt targeted after that and thatās because even with all the money I paid, to this community, I still had to prove that my friends and I, that LOOK A CERTAIN WAY, belong there. Please if you look a certain way like I do, especially, stay away from this community!
To the community owner, I understand that you have rules put in place that were definitely communicated to me but that does not excuse the fact that with all that surveillance at the turnstiles, you were only able to send workers to us once you noted something seemed suspicious but when we were panicking at the gate because the key card was not working, you disregarded the surveillance. Once your team suspected some wrongdoing, thatās when you decided to dispatch people in no less than 5 minutes⦠but not when we needed help. I appreciate your reply to this review but thatās still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever thought the day would come. I have enjoyed Arrowhead Lake for over 40 years. I can now honestly say that it is a place that I would NEVER recommend to anyone. No longer is it a safe environment to let your children just go and enjoy the pool and beaches like it once was. Vacant houses are everywhere, and the rent-a- cops border on crazy. Corporal Farrell is a perfect example. She is employed by Arrowhead Lake and while she was pulling me over and checking the back of my car, I wondered if she was scamming me. I actually had to ask to see her badge and I made her show me her full uniform that was covered by a safety vest that can be purchased at many stores. I thought she was an imposter that you hear about on T.V. Her sirens and lights were flashing like I was Billy the Kidd. As she spoke to me, I just kept thinking that she was a fraud. What a terrible feeling this is-all happening in the gated community called Arrowhead Lake. All of this for what you ask? She cited me for an infraction of rolling through a stop sign. Yes people, sirens galore, car checks, and crazy Corporal Farrell all for a "supposed" rolled stop at a stop sign which I question how she even saw this because the position of her car was hidden up a side street at an angle in which I feel made it difficult for her to see this supposed āinfraction.ā For those of you who are familiar with Harold Varity, the wonderful security guard of the 1970ās, he is rolling in his grave right now because the security at Arrowhead Lake borders on corrupt and I personally would like a full background check done on Corporal Farrell. The Arrowhead Lake community may be wondering why property values are plummeting and so many houses are left empty. There is a reason for all of this. This community has fallen to depths that I never...
