OCTOBER 5, 2021, TUESDAY, A VISIT TO FAMILY FOOD CENTER MY PAST NEIGHBORHOOD GROCERY STORE AND IN THE PAST I REMEMBER EDDIE ONE OF THE TWIN BROTHERS WHO OWNED THIS STORE. THE STORE HAS BEEN UPDATED AND REMODELED AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I NOTICED THE FRIENDLY EMPLOYEES AND THE EMPLOYEES BEING VERY HELPFUL TO ME AS THEY DID IN THE PAST. THE FAMILY FOID STORE WAS EXTREMELY CLEAN EVERYWHERE I LOOKED. I LIVED IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD FOR 33 YEARS AND IT WAS A HOMECOMING FOR ME AND I WAS HAPPY TO SEE PEOPLE THAT I REMEMBER AS FAMILY. I came by the other day in a rush because I just needed to buy some meat for dinner on my way home from work. I looked this place up on google and it was 2 min from me so I went. I was so surprised to find that they sold ox tail!! They had two packages left and I bought both and took them home. It was somewhere around $11 total and they were reduced because they had to sell that day. I have never seen ox tail so affordable! I took them home and cooked them and the meat was delicious. I lived in the neighborhood over 50 yrs ago. I remember the different names of the store now called Family Food Center. I stopped in recently and was very impressed with the updates, the new owners and the friendly staff as I looked around I saw fresh produce decently priced and surprisingly fresh, the kinds of fresh meats great for any soul food dish, spices I have been looking for at other stores and couldn't find.
