We purchased a New 2024 Polaris General XP Sport from Ervs and the salesman Kenney was Great. Our experience after that was Horrible!! We started having issues with the belt slipping and a noise coming from the engine/transmission area so took it back to the dealership and asked if they could rush this through since it is a brand new machine and the Manager said he would do his best but said it with a smirk on his face. He was Very Rude and cocky ! I told my wife as we were leaving that he is not going to rush it through. After being there for a week and not hearing from them I decided to call and get an update. They said they haven't had time to look at it yet. After another week of not hearing from them I called for an update and was told they are going to try to get it inside the shop for repairs soon. I called a couple days later and they said they took it for a test drive but couldn't find anything wrong. I asked if they even pulled the cover off to inspect the belt and they had not. He said he will test drive it again but explained they have been driving it 60 mph and not hearing anything or feeling any slipping of the belt. When I finally got Polaris inc involved they pulled the cover off and found sunflower seeds in the clutch area. They cleaned them out and told us it was ready for pickup. When we got there I asked what they did and they said nothing other than clean the sunflower seeds out. I asked about the noise and they still claim they don't hear anything. We loaded our General and knew we would Never return.
We took the machine to another Polaris dealership and their mechanic heard the noise we were talking about right away. The machine was missing parts from the factory on the brakes system causing a rattling noise. I explained that Irv's found sunflower seeds in the clutch housing and asked if he could check the clutch and belt for the glazing since Irv's was driving the hell out of our machine while it had sunflower seeds in it because they did not want to pull the cover off like the customer asked. He pulled the cover and the belt needed to be replaced and clutch cleaned.
Bottom line is this ..... Irv's is Definitely not the place to go for anything after the sale. After talking with others on the trails about this issue we have ran across three other people so far that have had similar issues with Irv's in Tomahawk Wisconsin. So even if they are the closest dealership to you like they were for us, I would recommend driving to the next closet dealership to avoid all the frustrations and the arrogant manager.
This experience from Irv's in Tomahawk Wisconsin almost caused me to leave Polaris Inc and look at other brands but in the end Polaris came through for us and we were able to get most of the cost covered...
Read moreWe made an appointment to have turn signals and visors installed on our Polaris UTV. Two of the Ervs staff both checked the turn signal kit to make sure it was the correct one. I had them open the kit and show me that it had the turn signal arm. They said it was the only one they had so he was going to put it with our service order so no one else would take it. He said it would be 1-2 weeks. We left our UTV there. We called after 2 weeks and they said they were waiting for the turn signal kit to come in. No one knows what happened to the one we looked at when we wrote the service order. Clearly they gave it to another customer that bought a UTV from them and wanted turn signals installed. Ervs staff claim they have no idea what happened. They aren't sorry and offer no apologies. Our neighbors all told us the Ervs Sales and Service were scheisters and scammers. But they are a local business and we wanted to support them. Never again. They made complete fools of us.
Updating my review. Ervs did get another turn signal kit in for our UTV. We had to drop the UTV off again to have it installed. Another inconvenience. They did install the turn signal kit and it works great. I give a pat on the back to the service technicians not the staff that works the service desk that gave our original kit away to...
Read more10/10 would NOT recommend We had gone in early August, knowing exactly what we wanted to purchase- we spent about 40+ min waiting on someone/ANYONE to come help us- there was no one in sight- it took us going to the service desk to get someone to help us. We purchased an ATV in cash.
They gave us 1 key since they lost the 2nd and said they would have it ready for us when the license plate was ready- that took 2 months since their "plate machine was down" and they never found the key, so they gave us a blank and said "you can go get one made"
Fast forward to now- when we needed to get a winch and a plow installed- ordering the parts and booking the service was easy, took about 2 (ish or less) weeks to get the plow in (even though in August they said they regularly stock them and its an incredibly easy fast service)
We dropped the ATV off on a Sunday morning and asked about how long it takes. They said "plow and winch- about an hour or two" ...its now Tuesday, and they are now saying it's a couple of days for the service.
Truly frustrating place to do business- once this service is complete, we will no longer be shopping there due to the horrible customer service and lack there of- we will find somewhere else to go for our next ATV &...
