CAUTION TO PHLEBOTOMY COURSE. Just a warning to anybody in the Ocean County area who has kids or is trying to pursue a new career in phlebotomy they had classes at the Ocean County Votech, biggest mistake trying to save money and go there. I’m not sure how the other programs run but I am 100% well aware that the person in charge of phlebotomy class Nicole should be fired and the principal really couldn’t care to less about your opinions the teachers always right 🤷🏻‍♀️ never in my life have i dealt with this situation with an ADULT let alone a TEACHER. The teacher is massively inappropriate, unprofessional, unapproachable and RUDE . She bullied students and she easily has made over three people cry . You are better off spending your money to go to the actual college for the course as the teacher for this class likes to feels like Alpha and enjoys pushing people around as well as hold the certificate over peoples heads. I won’t allow anyone to treat me like that. She’s disgusting to me. It was an absolutely awful experience. Please save yourself the embarrassment and suffering that this class causes students. I am not the only one in the class that felt this way, but I am the only one in the class that spoke up. And because i’m the only one that spoke up the teacher then lied on my name and made me look like the bad guy, again because I wouldn’t let her be alpha over me and I would not let her bully me that also made her very angry with me to the point where she had me removed from class and was told by her superiors that she still had to give me credit, because I didn’t do anything wrong the next day she lied to the principal who of course is going to believe her over me. She was 100% wrong and should 100% lose her...
Read moreI took the medical assisting class and it was just a mess. Ms. Damon does not know what she’s talking about and can’t even pronounce half the words right. She chooses favorites big time. Me and my classmate did the same exact thing yet I would get a better daily grade. Makes no sense. She’s rude when people mess up one time and doesn’t give anyone the benefit of the doubt. She needs to retire as soon as possible and you need to find a teacher who will teach right. We would spend weeks on the easy things and days on the hard things. She only wants the people she likes to succeed. Ms. Malfitano barely paid any attention to us. She was always on her computer while we typed and typed and typed for whole class periods for whole weeks. I wasn’t in a typing class I was in a medical assisting class. The whole curriculum is just awful. The school is corrupt and teachers promise things they can’t deliver. Class trips would have made my time there more fun. We went on 2 trips in the 2 years. Oh and if you take this class and get Ms. Damon if she’s still there,, NEVER make a mistake or you will be criticized in front of EVERYONE. Don’t recommend votech at all. She does not give good instructions. She gave us groups to do a project so my partner and I did ours together and she said “we can’t do it together we have to do it by ourselves”. Then why have groups?? You could get a better education anywhere else &&& actually get treated right and like a human being not a robot who is forced to be there. I am extremely passionate about the medical field but she made me rethink because she just made my time...
Read moreI registered for an adult education class here but I waited too long and it was full. Luckily a lot of other students wanted to do the class that I wanted even after it was full. So Mary the principal opened up a new class and got a new teacher for the class who was recommended by other teachers. I really liked the teacher he was funny which made class more enjoyable. The students here were also real cool and helpful.
Unfortunately, I decided I didn't want to pursue the career that I took the class for half way through, after finding out some more stuff that I didn't think about when I researched the career. I wanted to do a different class so I talked to Mary and she used the amount of money I hadn't used to finish my class with and applied it to a different class I was interested in.
The trade careers offered here can pay good, especially if you start your own business. Financial aid will only cover the programs which were around $3,000 for 2 years and 900 hours. Which the high school students take for free, but you can still take them as an adult. I'd only have to pay $300 out of the $3000 with a...
