I grew up with Rusty's corner store. So it's been hard over the years see his namesake be a big time gas station when he sold his business after getting sick (RIP Rusty we love you). I really dislike their management as well as the convenience prices when it comes to certain items, BUT all the regular hourly staff I have interacted with are wonderful. I've seen they hired more kitchen staff, which is also wondeful, and they are so friendly and helpful! Anyways - came to leave this review because I really skeptical about the price of ordering their chicken tenders and fries. I was actually talked into the 4 tender/fries/any size drink combo for 11 bucks and some change. And the tenders were great@! Not only were they big tenders they were moist. Looking at the fries I wouldn't have guessed they came out as crispy and not oil soaked they were. A pleasant surprise for gas station food and it beat their $9 bacon cheese burger I was going to get! Also - please bring back Frosty's Donuts! Your new kind you've been getting the past few years taste like they...
Read more:Updated: Personally my favorite place to get 93 octane gas. The food there is great. Customer service 10/10. A really clean building. On top of that, the store has the feeling of home to it. All the locals go to get their Frosty's Donuts and Hot coffee before work, Rusty Hot Dog on break, and when you're heading home, a pizza for the family will surely bring everyone to the table. You just don't get pick me up feeling from gas stations or markets these days.
Update: gas prices hire than pleasant street gas in Brunswick. This place use to be a friendly neighborhood staple. Now the cashiers are half as friendly, gas prices are a whole 29¢ above the average in maine. It was better before Kathleen sold out. Now some Highlanders probably own and manage the business with rusty lantern and its robbing the local hard workers. Topsham Irving is better, Shell On old bath rd is now better. We lost something good. I only pray it'll be good as...
Read moreStopped by this afternoon to order one of their Ruben Sandwiches I've heard were so wonderful. I waited a while before the girl working came back into the building from visiting a friend in the parking lot. I placed my order and was told she didn't know how to make a ruben, I asked for steak and cheese but they didn't have any steak. I ordered a large Turkey Italian and 3 ham Italians. I spent almost $8.00 per sandwich. When I got home and unwrapped my sandwich, I was disgusted. It had some ham, a very skimpy piece of romaine lettuce, very thin slices of bell pepper and cheese. That was it. I did order mine without onion and tomato but there was no pickle, no black olive... I don't know anyone who dosen't know that an Italian sandwich is meat, cheese, pickle, tomato, peppers, onion and black olives with oil, salt and pepper... I'm not at all...
