Southworth's Wayside Furniture — Local services in Torrington

This may be a bit long winded, but I went to Southworth's to shop for some new furniture. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived! This is amazing gem of a furniture store. The showrooms are fully stocked and get this, you are FREE to roam around the store without someone hovering over you while you shop. Questions are answered swiftly, assistance is offered but not pushed on you! The selections are endless and the team's knowledge of their offerings is extensive.

I ended up purchasing a Couch with recliners at each end and two chairs. Due to COVID and supply chain issues, the chairs took a wee-bit longer than expected; but I was always kept up to date.

I cannot express my gratitude to the delivery team. These men delivered my furniture in two deliveries because the couch arrived before the chairs. Each time they came into my home, they made me feel as though I was their only client that day. Their focus was placing the furniture carefully in their intended places with my full satisfaction. I live in a town house, there was not ONE complaint about the amount of stairs I have.

If you need a new furniture or even if you just want a bit of an upgrade..... take the extra drive to Torrington, you will NOT be...

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE!!!!!! Terrible customer service. The owner doesn’t care about making their customers happy. Waited twelve weeks for a couch that should’ve come in 8-10 weeks. Went there to ask for our money back because I was called by the manager and was told it would be here the following week and if anything changed he would be in touch. Two weeks later and it’s still not here and not a word from the manager. Was told the receipt says No Refunds, but this was purchased over the phone, was told I would be sent a receipt and .... NOTHING. Manager and owner were very hostile and obviously didn’t care about us being happy. If they even just gave me the delivery fee off, it would show they were trying to make up for the way I was treated, nope...

Just want to give a shout out to Southworths wayside furniture, me and the other half went there today to get some stuff for the house. We got a beautiful couch, bedframe, coffee table for a steal on their winter sale.

But not only that, we forgot to measure before we left (we both had a blonde moment), so Kevin who helped us gave us a little tape measure, all the numbers on the various pieces we liked... then via phone helped us with more numbers and gave us an amazing deal all together and we paid over phone..

I am so happy and satisfied with service, quality and price, when you are stressed and dont think clearly to get knowledgeable help...
