Valu Home Centers — Local services in Town of Alden

This is not a product experience, but a staff experience. I was next door today when my truck battery was dead and I needed a jump. I walked next door to this Valu and a wonderful young gentleman employee, that advised me while we talked, that he had been a volunteer fireman at one time, was able to use his jumper cables to jump my truck. I told him I'd pay him and he refused. He even offered to let me borrow his jumper cables incase it happened again. This young man went above and beyond his job to help me and my daughter today. They go out of their way to help you. They greet you the moment you walk in the door and ask if you need help. Super friendly and actually helpful. Everyone seems to know where everything is.

The only complaint is that as a small hometown store they don't have as much as the big mega stores.

That's a plus and a minus. Plus because they give great service. Minus because they don't have the big selection.

But they are close by and have gotten me out of a jam more than once. They are certainly an asset to the community.

I have always found incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. If Valu does not have the part or equipment I need they will always have a good recommendation for where I can find what I need. The store is well stocked for the home handyman doing small projects ranting from plumbing, hearing, renovations, flooring, painting, and a small selection of lumber.
