Hot Flips — Local services in Town of Babylon

My interaction with this company happened at their booth during NY Comic Con. I was standing a row of people waiting to pay, one of the sellers took care of all three people in front of me. Packed up their stuff and took their credit cards to the terminal that was in the middle of this booth, then resumed his place on the side of the booth. When he got to me, he stopped. He wiped his brow and proceeded to rest. I get it, comic con its very busy, but now I'm just standing there. So I call out, and he acknowledges me. I tell him the sleeves that I want, receive them and then he tells me to go around the corner and pay for them.

I instantly question this as I have been standing there for quite a while and know the procedure at this point. I asked him "you just took everyone's cards but you want me to walk around"? He replied "i can't keep walking back and forth like this" I proceed to go around the table but again it's Comic-Con so there is a wall of people that I have to push through just to get to the other side to wait to be acknowledged again to pay. I am not sure why I was singled out, thought I was the only person of color at this booth at the time, it feels like that was part of it. Or this guy was just older and being on his feet was too much for him. Either way, they only got my money to due the proximity on the floor and the timing of...

horrible compay! I only put one star because there is no optiion for zero stars. never ordered from this company before but ordered three collectible rare classic magazines in good faith as first time buyer. the package arrived soaked in some kind of horrible liquid....some kind of thick oil....which damaged one of the magazines.

also every single collectible book had very unsightly ink stamps on the front cover. i did not see anything about ink stamps in the original ad.

i contacted hotflips ...all ii wanted was a partial refund....not even a return .....but they refused to do anything about it. they said the ink stamps were mentioned in the ad and they couldnt do anything about oil soaked package. i went back over the ad and finally after looking over and over it, i found a mention of the ink stamps ...but the print was so small i almost had to get a magnifying glass out to even read it. very decietful.....horrible seller. never will buy from them again! beware! hotflips...

Created an order for 200 plastic comic top loaders; generated the order, put in my credit card and paid. Checked back a few days later and they had refunded it with the snarky message, "We do NOT offer free shipping to Canada."

Firstly, their website generated the order without a shipping charge - I had no idea it wasn't "okay." Secondly, nobody contacted me to let me know and possibly amend the order? Thirdly - even when I contacted them, they never responded! And lastly - because of the way exchange works, I lost $15.75 CAD on their "refund" as they did it three days later on a day the Canadian dollar was stronger.

I would rather have left the money on the card and paid extra for shipping the units, than lose the money and get nothing!

So basically, I paid $15.75 to find out this company sucks, and their customer service is about as awesome as watching old people screw (which is to say, not at all). Thanks...
