Brookhaven Town Hall — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

Have tried for over two hours to contact Town Hall with no luck, I've been disconnected 3 time and finally gave up after holding for the last 40 minutes. So I will leave my concerns here instead. The new sanitation company is horrific. Today was supposed to be cans and plastic...we put ours out and I just found the can, still full with a sticker that says unacceptable item. They picked up NOTHING. I was careful to make sure that only #1 and 2 plastics were in there and only metal cans, no glass..so what exactly was unacceptable to this new company?? This is unacceptable and the Town needs to make this right. You switched companies, I'm guessing to save money, but you know what? You get what you pay for. If this is the new norm, I believe Brookhaven needs to lower our taxes to make up for the new lack of service. And garbage pick is no better, we've lost two cans in the last month, been here 10 years and that has never happened. It's because they toss the cans basically in the middle of the road. The old company always put them back on the sidewalk. Shame on...

America has its flaws. Many people live paycheck to paycheck but hesitate to seek help or services. Republicans appear to accept living poorly and overworking, while Democrats seem to make self-destructive choices. We overpay for poorly built homes with high property taxes, while owners of massive estates enjoy reduced tax rates. It feels like the regular person gets overlooked while the super wealthy...

Building Dept. Want to get a permit to put up a sign ti advertise an event in Brookhaven that raises money for charity. The man at the desk told me signs are graffiti and he cant give me a Brookhaven permit until i first go to the county and the state. He was the rude nasty unhelpful, uninformational person. I just want to do the right thing and go through proper channels and he was a complete roadblock. Someone like that shouldn't even be working where he is in a customer service arena and so unbelievably rude. ...
