Pinto Pools — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

I am in the process of waiting on a closing date for my house. I had noticed that the pool was losing a lot of water. Doing the right thing I contacted Pinto pools to do the repair. We have used Pinto pools for all of our openings/closings and any issues that arose in the 3 years that we have owned this home. We never had any issues with their service. Unfortunately, I cannot say that any more. When I first contacted Pinto by phone they told me the service person (Michelle) was away from her desk, leave a message and she would call me back. I did not get a call back so I stopped in on my way home. Met Michelle and filled out a form to have my pipes pressure tested. I would receive a call when I was put onto schedule. I did get a call but it was not my schedule date it was to tell me that she spilled something on the form and needed my payment information. I never did get a call to tell me when they would be out my house. Good thing I have security cameras! They came about a week and a half later(6/20). I did not receive a phone call of what they found and would not have known that the came without the cameras. two days later I called, spoke with Michelle and she told me the tech would get back to me. two days after that I got a call from the tech. my pressure test was good, there must be a tear somewhere in the lining. The need to swim the pool to look for the tear. They would do that Thursday (6/27). Instead of swimming the pool they turned I off and corked the jets and skim baskets put a tape mark on the basket to see how much water I was losing in a 24 hr. period. The tech called and let me know that this is what the did. I was losing about 2” of water a day. This whole time period I kept the hose in my pool to keep the water levels up. They came back Friday removed the corks and told my mother which I overheard on the security camera that they would be back Monday (7/1) to swim pool and fix any leaks they found, to make sure I vacuumed pool so that it was clean for them. Monday came and went. I called the office and was told I was not on schedule for the day or the week. But they would try to fit me in on Wednesday of next week(7/10). Please remember that this is all going on while I am packing my house for a move to another state trying to fix everything for the new homeowners so that they are not faced with any surprises. I felt the tech was doing a thorough job, I feel that they need better communication and scheduling. I FELT VERY OVERWHELMED. I mention my frustration to me husband who s out of state. He decided to write a review commenting on how long the process was taking. Wednesday morning(7/4) at 8 am I got woken up to a very angry phone call from Michelle at Pinto Pools. She YELLED at me about the review called it “malicious & slanderous” and told me they were going to sue us over the review and that they would not be coming to fix our pool or do any other work for us in the future and hung up. So of course I call my husband and tell him then I hung up and read the review. It was none of what she accused. The point, I am disappointed with how I was treated. Appalled that after they read the review posted by Jeff Tabachnick that they felt the best course of action was to call me on a holiday morning at 8 am and yell at me and...

I was recommended to Pinto Pools by my Lanscaper - J Ratto Landscaping. I started using Pinto Pools for my opening and closing service. I also drove from East Quogue all the way to East Moriches to buy all my chemicals and all my pool supplies, passing many other pool supply businesses. Thses purchases add up to thousands of dollars. 2 years ago - i felt like a had a leak, and therefore called Pinto to help consult me on if i did have a leak or not, and if i did where was the leak, the liner? The Lines? The Light? etc. They kept on telling me that it is evaporation - and do the evaporation test.

I did everything they asked of me. Then i did the air test and paid $400. They suggested that it was one of the lines. Then they dug up that line which I paid for. And it was not that line. Then they suggested it was the other lines. I paid thousands of dollars to ge that line replaced by digging up the patio and the flower beds. Last year, after the line replacement i felt like it was still leaking, I call Pinto and they say it is evaportation. I just kept filling the pool each week.

This year i just opened the pool and 2 days later I show a Pinto representative that was at the house and he agreed that i lost way too much water to be evaporation.

I then call Ed Pinto the owner - and he was disrespectful and nasty on the phone, and instead of trying to help me he said - Well you didnt spend the money to replace "both" the lines. I couldnt beleive my ears!

I said Ed - I am so disappointed that this is what i get from you after being such a loyal customer and providing you thousands of dollars in work and you won't even stand behind your work to sort out my issues!

It is a shame that he is hiding and won't help sort out my issues!

Hopefully i can spare good folks from dealing with this man who wont stand behind his brand and...

We recently put in a pool and we couldn’t be happier with every aspect. The owner, Ed Pinto, is an outstanding business owner who remained in constant communication with my husband and I throughout the entire process. If we had a question, he answered our emails within a half hour. He stuck to his deadlines, even amidst the challenges of it having been a very rainy June (when it was installed), dealing with a high water table (we are near the bay), and of working with the Historic Division of our town. The pool has turned out better than we ever imagined it would be. He came over personally throughout the process and gave us an extended tutorial on how everything works. His workers are kind and professional and worked many long days. Out of all of the many home improvements we have made since buying our home 15 years ago, this has by far been the best one.
