Tucked away in a quiet shopping center, Tacos el Gordo doesn't just serve food it orchestrates flavor like a symphony! From the moment my husband, daughter and I stepped inside we were treated like family! We first tried their birria tacos-a dish that deserves its own fan club. The burritos are to die for, the best we have ever had! They have the gordo burrito which has three meats inside and stuffed to perfection with homestyle steak fries and a drink as a Wednesday special! And dont forget to try their street corn its one of a kind! They are by far the best Mexican food we've ever had! Jorge the owner always greets us with a smile and gives us the best suggestions! This is a very casual place for me to dine when I can't get the Farmingville. They have authentic Mexican food here. I'm not sure from which state in Mexicon they're from but they seem to have a lot of bases covered as far a mexican food in general. The only issue I have is the bread or bolillos that they use when making a Tortas I usually like my really crunchy. I tried other dishes there and they were delicious. Service is very friendly they make you want to come back. I've⁞ never met such nice people in my life. They seem like very God loving people. Is it a great addition to my neighborhood. Local authentic taco place that I wish I would’ve found sooner since I live nearby. Very authentic and very affordable. Tasty food and wonderful staff. The amount of guacamole was a lot and was probably the best guacamole I’ve had outside my house. Tacos are authentic coming on 2 small corn tortillas. The chorizo was tasty and Smokey. The shrimp was marinated perfectly. The mushrooms and corn was different but I liked it. The Al pastor was soft and sweet. The horchata was tasty but we thought it could’ve been a thicker consistency. The staff even gave us a sample of their birria meat. Very tasty too. 5/5 would return...

Local authentic taco place that I wish I would’ve found sooner since I live nearby. Very authentic and very affordable. Tasty food and wonderful staff. The amount of guacamole was a lot and was probably the best guacamole I’ve had outside my house. Tacos are authentic coming on 2 small corn tortillas. The chorizo was tasty and Smokey. The shrimp was marinated perfectly. The mushrooms and corn was different but I liked it. The Al pastor was soft and sweet. Todo se veĂ­a increĂ­blemente apetitoso, asĂ­ que no pude resistirme y decidĂ­ probar mĂĄs cosas. AdemĂĄs del pozole, pedĂ­ tacos de asada y de birria, acompañados de cebollines, nopales y cueritos. Cabe mencionar que los cebollines, nopales y cueritos fueron Ăłrdenes adicionales; no estĂĄn incluidos con los tacos. El pozole venĂ­a con unas tostadas preparadas deliciosas, un detalle que realmente elevĂł la experiencia. En cuanto al servicio, la higiene y el sabor, les doy un 💯, sin duda sĂșper recomendable. Originally I only ordered a pozole over the phone. However, when I arrived ÂĄWow! Everything looked incredibly appetizing, so I couldn’t resist and decided to try more. Besides the pozole, I ordered asada and birria tacos, along with grilled onions, nopales, and cueritos. It’s worth mentioning that the grilled onions, nopales, and cueritos were additional orders; they are not included with the tacos. The pozole came with delicious prepared tostadas, which really elevated the experience. As for the service, cleanliness, and flavor, I give them a 💯 ÂĄhighly recommended! For me, it was a true explosion of flavors. I regret not trying the desserts to add even more joy to my stomach. I noticed they had churros that looked absolutely amazing, so I’ll definitely be coming back soon to try them!

Honestly the best Mexican food in the area by far! Love their burrito special which comes with a burrito (either carnitas, Al pastor, or chicken), fries, and a soda. The fries are excellent — crisp, super hot and fresh, potatoey without being dry. And the burritos are so good. I’ve had the Al pastor which has solid chunks of pineapple in there and great flavor, but I had the carnitas last time and that was really flavorful and savory, they’re both excellent choices. Don’t forget the hot sauce! (Quite spicy, use in moderation.)
