I have been using Eddie's aquarium for years and find this to be the number one top notch Aquarium store in the capital region. When you first walk in to the left is a huge room full of tanks with all sorts of fish from freshwater to saltwater. You can tell that the fish are all healthy and well taken care of. To the left of the store is the supply area where you can buy aquariums, filtration systems and everything else you would need to set up your aquarium. I unfortunately bought an aquarium from PetSmart a little over a year ago and it lasted exactly a year before the filtration died on it and there was no warranty. Also, I had to buy filters from PetSmart and I couldn't get them anywhere else. I should have brought everything from Eddie's. All the supplies they have are top-notch and good quality. The people who work there are extremely knowledgeable about fish and setting up aquariums and they will answer any question you give them. I had bought a betta fish for my daughter and they told me that there were three other fish that could live with bettas. I did not know that. In fact, nobody else I've spoken to seems to know that either, including other aquariums in the area. They told me which ones they were and after the water tested positive as far as being allowed to introduce another fish to the water, we added an Otto catfish which I've had for over a year. They also have an email address so you can email them questions and send pictures of your aquarium from home. I have never had to use this service, but they also will come to your home if you have a big aquarium to work on it. They sell supplies and equipment for making ponds in your yard. They also will test water the new aquarium. If you keep bringing them samples of the water they will test it and tell you where the water is as far as when fish are able to be introduced to the aquarium without being shocked. I have been to other aquarium stores and find the staff at Eddie's far superior with their knowledge. I have to drive a half hour to get to Eddie's aquarium, but from now on they will get all my service. I am very sorry that I went...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Iād like to clarify the reason behind my 2-star rating.
My family and I (there were three of us) came into your store and found everything we were looking for - lionfish, seahorses, snails, and even koi fish. We recently expanded our pond and were ready to purchase 10 koi, along with additional supplies for our aquariums.
Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. As we entered, we walked past a group of employees who were chatting - no one acknowledged us, which I didnāt see as a major issue at first. But when I politely greeted another staff member with a āGood morning,ā she looked me straight in the eye and said nothing. I was so close that any closer, I wouldāve been in her face - thereās absolutely no way she didnāt hear me.
Normally, when someone makes an effort to engage with a store employee, itās a sign theyāre interested, open to assistance, or ready to make a purchase - and that moment matters. As someone who spent over 20 years in retail management and training earlier in life, being dismissed like that was frustrating. Customer interaction is the heart of retail - itās why physical stores exist: to serve customers and earn their business. I would have completely understood if she had said something like, āIām a little busy right now - give me a few minutes and Iāll be with you shortly.ā A simple acknowledgment goes a long way.
We continued browsing the store, hoping someone would approach us or offer help, but no one ever did. It truly felt like our presence didnāt matter and our business wasnāt wanted. So, we left without making a purchase - even though we were fully prepared to support your store.
I hope this feedback is helpful. Your inventory is outstanding, and weād be open to returning if the level of customer service ever reflects the same quality as...
