My girlfriend bought me a present from Wi - Baraboo's "The original Cow Pie! - Rich chocolate, creamy caramel, fresh pecans" Net weight 2.5oz. The box looks great! (4 1/4inches x 4 1/4 inches) The promise of a feast of chocolaty delight! I opened it with great anticipation.. and the Cow Pie was 2 1/4inches x 2 1/4inches... I can hear the BARABOO publicity dept now: "The packaging clearly states that the product size is 2.5oz (71g) - whats your problem? don't you know what a 2.5oz product looks like?".

Shame on you, using sales tactics that went out with the Nixon era. I will be warning anyone who is tempted to buy one of your products that the box is deliberately MUCH bigger than the product, in order to maximise your profits, and to fool your American compatriots to part with their hard earned dollars, only to feel ripped off. When you tell most people that you love eating Cow Pies, the reaction is understandably incredulous. But once you explain that a Cow Pie from the Baraboo Candy Company is an elite, home-made confection from the chocolate masters in central Wisconsin, minds are quickly changed!

We live in northern Wisconsin, but always make sure to take a short detour off I-94 whenever we are in the neighborhood. Time spent at the Baraboo Candy Company is time well spent! The only challenges are 1. finding room in an already packed car for all the yummy goodies you couldn't pass up, and 2. trying to resist temptation to make sure you have something left to share with your friends & family when you arrive at your destination.

It's been a few years since I was able to make the trip up to Baraboo to shop here. Everything I have ever purchased here is delicious. The customer service has always been superb. The employees were always extremely helpful.

I did place an online order from here a few years ago. The order was going from Baraboo to Racine. As I watched the tracking online I noticed the USPS decided the package needed a detour to Florida (the USPS is a typical government run operation.. Ah, but I digress). When I called the Baraboo Candy Company I spoke with a very nice gentleman and after agreeing that the "service" part in United States Postal Service was nonexistent, the gentleman offered to resend the items in the event the USPS failed to deliver the items that I had ordered.
