I had an appointment last week for a wellness exam and a concern for my dog's stool. Conducted the wellness exam and Dr. Ted's stand in for the appointment gave meds for the stool and stated that everything was otherwise good and to come back in a week for the vaccines. The tech stated that we would not be charged for a dr. visit but a tech visit since it's just for vaccines. M dog went back yesterday and my sister states that the tech took my dog for the appointment, comes back out and dr. Ted states my dog has an ear infection that, "has been there for a while," which does not make any sense considering my dog was just there last week for a wellness exam and was perfectly normal. So did the stand in Dr. even exam my dog or what? I was also told that they did not tell my sister of any of the exams that were being performed prior to being charged. You cannot just perform exams and tests WITHOUT telling myself or the person I send with my card without telling me what you're doing and just expect me to pay whatever at the end. On top of that, my dog had an accident in the building (can't go in due to covid) and they made no mention of continued meds, how his stool was, if he should try new food or ANYTHING. Also Why was I charged for another medical exam when I was told I'd be paying for a tech visit. What was the point of the other exam when "everything was perfectly fine" with my dog last week. I called an hour and a half prior to them closing and the lady, Sherrie I believe her name was stated that the tech who handled Saint would call me back before closing. Never received the call, not surprised. I also had questions about his new medicine so it would have been nice to have those address so I know how to best give it to my dog. Hopefully I get a call today, but I will be exploring new vet's after this is hopefully resolved which isn't great considering this is the first time I've had an issue with the service here but this really put a bad taste...
Read moreMy 1st time visit here was not the best. They had a new assistant who was friendly but not yet fully trained enough to professionally handle a brand new client like myself. I brought my small maltese mix rescue dog in for his rabies and routine vaccinations but they did not bring to my attention specifically which vaccines/boosters they planned to administer before taking my dog into another room to do so. There were numerous informational pamphlets about a wide variety of veterinary pharmaceutical products displayed on the walls and I did peruse them while waiting, but I had no idea which ones would be most beneficial to bring with me and study more. I met with Dr. Ted who said I should try to get my dog to drop a pound or 2 and I asked him about how best to choose between the different heartworm prevention and flee/tick products. Then they had to take a 2nd blood draw for the heartworm test since the 1st attempt did not yield enough volume. Afterwards, I was taken to the payment desk, given the rabies tag and certificate and and paid what was due. It was only then that I became aware that in addition to the rabies and blood draw, that they also gave my dog a Lepto Booster ($20), a DHPP Booster ($20), and a Bordetella Booster Intranasal ($20). I should think they would have made me clearly aware of this beforehand and that the Bordetella should have been optional. I believe better communication should be a higher priority in pet care and after this experience will not be...
