We are fortunate to have a shop that I feel confident just dropping the car off with a note that says "brakes noisy", and the only plan is to pick it up that night after work. Jim Whyte is the owner and person who greets you at the door and he fixes cars for others as he would his own, respecting customer dignity and checkbooks without the dog and pony show found elsewhere. One experience I would like to relate as an example is when our car's air conditioner was very noisy because it's clutch was not operating properly. Whyte's removed just the clutch, adjusted it and reinstalled it rather than replacing the entire AC unit. I was shocked that this could be done since on our previous subaru with the same problem, a different shop had replaced the entire air conditioner compressor at about 10X the cost. Whyte's does...

Jim and everyone at Whyte's have always done good work at a fair price. I bring both my cars there for repairs, oil changes, and tires. Honest as others have said. Last summer while on vacation I had to bring my car to another garage when a brake caliper hung. That garage told me I also had a hole in my exhaust and needed a $1250 full replacement. There was a slight noise from it, but I knew I had whytes replace 1/2 that system the previous year and felt they were scamming me. I did not have them do the work. When I got back I took it to Whyte's and Jim told me it was a $12 gasket in the system which he replaced on 1/2 an hours labor. No more noise, no issues since, and certainly no thousand dollar...

I have been using Whyte's exclusively for 4 years now. I even purchased a used car from them. Now that I have a new car I will still use them for maintenance (non-warranty) work, because they listen to my concerns and help me to understand what the problem is. They are polite and knowledgeable. They get my car in and out quickly for a reasonable amount of money. I highly recommend them because I trust them to be honest with me. August 2018. Even at the height of vacation season, they got my car in for a last minute brake job. The work was done very quickly at a reasonable price.
