Dollar General — Local services in Town of Durham

Usually have no problem. But tonight I bought 2 bags of lays chips at 3.50 each or 2 for 5$ the clerk I haven't seen before rings me out of the and the chips came up as 3.50 each. So I bring it to his attention and he very sluggish like meanders over to the chip display and points to another sales sign under a different bag of chips. Says that's what's on sale. I point to the sales sign I'm referring to and he just cuts me off and insisted that that was what the sale was for and points to the sign he originally mentioned which was for a different bag of chips. About 5 feet away from the chips I bought I will mention. He was rude and honestly sloppy and sluggish. Customer service sucked.. may 18 right before closing. ...

I stopped into this Dollar General while attending a nearby event, and I was honestly shocked by the condition of the store. The floors were filthy, and the aisles were a complete mess. Merchandise was still sitting in boxes, which unfortunately seems common for some locations, but the overall disorganization here was extreme.

Staff were standing around appearing to be busy, but not much was actually getting done. With the store looking as deplorable as it did, I would be embarrassed to work there. I’ve seen cluttered Dollar Generals before, but this one was by far the worst I’ve encountered. Definitely not a store I’d return to unless major...

I never write reviews but I had to because of my mothers recent experience at this location. Let me start by saying that my mother is in poor health and doesn't get around like she use to. I usually go to the store with her to help her with the bags etc. but was unable to due to a recent surgery. The cashier that checked her out (her name tag said Mary lou) was so pleasant and kind to my mom. She double bagged everything and not only put the bags in her cart for her but put the bags into her car! You don't really see this type of consideration in these modern times.
