Prices continue to increase and quality of music acts continues to decrease. Money has surpassed the experience in importance to the organizers. Charging $35 to drive your vehicle in and then not refunding it when you move to the car corral causes people to refuse to take their cars out (me included) which limits the number of attendees. The spot occupied by 2 $35 cars could hold 4 attendees at near $200 each. Pretty simple math problem to me. Ingress and egress are hampered by incompetent traffic controllers. People who lined up at 3am as per the rules were let in no earlier than 930am behind the large groups of cars that broke the rules by lining up down the main road, them having been shunted onto the grounds by the police attempting to clear the road, neatly handing the short end of the stick to those who followed all the rules and guidelines. I heard from many people "just show up around 6 and the police will push you in first". Portapotties are cleaned 3x a day which is excellent but the handwashing station near our site went empty on Thursday and wasnt touched again. commander, else was pretty excellent all in all but in still skipping next year in favor of Telluride. If these issues arent fixed by 2021, I'll just find a...

The music goes on all day and sessions go into the wee hours. I'm talking great music on stage as well as around the campfires. Campers go all out setting up their home spaces with themes and decorations! I'm a big fan of The Flying Pig and Grillbillies. Even the ice man gets into the act with his humorous hog call for ice as he travels throughout the grounds. There are showers and somehow they manage to keep the Porto Johns clean all the time. Food vendors are diverse too you can get a great coffee, craft beer and even a fresh salad. They had a much appreciated sunblock and bug spray station. Great mix of vendors with merchandise from Celtic jewelry to beautiful hats and clothing. I picked up a guitar shaped cutting board as a gift. If Bluegrass music is your style or you want to hear something new, it's a must attend. Bring warm clothes for night time and plan for mud in...
Read moreOne of the premier bluegrass festivals. Itâs medium size - not humongous like MerleFest or hardly Strictly Bluegrass, smaller than DelFest, but not small. Quality curation from a musicianship perspective, with a mix each year based in old timers (in 2025, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Steep Canyon Rangers, Del McCoury); up and coming but already hot (Jig Jam, Unspoken Tradition, Litch Brothers); and a sprinkle of TBD (Mighty REA, Rakish, High Horse). Like most âbluegrassâ festivals these days, not strictly- youâll hear some bands with drums and electric guitars. Also leans into Cajun, Acadian, NY Capital region local. More multiyear attendees than most and not the most welcoming to newbies -...
