I have to say that Tops is not my favorite chain to shop, as their selection is sometimes limited and their prices could be better. However, this Tops has a very helpful, friendly staff. Their sales are excellent value. In Elizabethtown, the produce manager is outstanding -- the selection of vegetables is excellent, and their meats are quite nice as well. They are well stocked with basic goods, so it's not often that you can't find something that's close to what you are looking for. Considering the location, it's a blessing. The further one gets into the Adirondacks, the more planning it takes to fill the pantry. If you are a fan of specialty foods, your options are traveling to Plattsburg, or Burlington Vermont, or mail order, but you certainly won't starve...

The produce selection is pretty good for a smaller store and the variety is ok given the store’s size. Generally, they are usually well-stocked shelves with a variety of products / providers. Mostly friendly staff (can we all be in a good mood all the time??). Prices are comparable to those in Plattsburgh / Lake Placid/ Ticonderoga, especially if you take advantage of sales. Their store is eat of the floor spotless.The front end help and manager (younger gal) is very nice at Top's. The older, gray haired deli worker seems to cop a shifty attitude every time. She acts like you are disturbing her while she chats away with coworkers. You wait patiently and all she can muster is be right with you as she continues her personal...
