The picture does not do the beauty of the table justice! Book matched black walnut at its finest! What neither pictures or words can explain is the extraordinary customer service! Toni, as does the team, deserves the award for No.1 customer service! Getting my dream table took hard listening and translating ‚ stereotypical German Karin’ into English design specification/our table! Not all black walnut is created equal, the grain, the staining etc… then you have customers like me that love wood imperfections, but not to many, also not all, but then the ones not acceptable to most are perfectly fine with me. Let’s not forget base, must be adjustable, unique of course, modern, but only a little because it should resemble old fashion industry, enough detail without being kitschy, not to much ‚stuff‘ it needs to be easy to be cleaned (dogs & dust). My wife and I wanted to replace our gas fireplace and basic mantle after being in our home for 24 years. We wanted to raise the fireplace, add a hearth and have stone work up to the ceiling. We also wanted a beautiful, unique mantle. We visited Toni at Authentic Antique Lumber and she helped us pick out a beautiful piece of 6X8 wood. We didn’t have much time but really wanted to try and get the project done before Thanksgiving as we always host our large family. The Fireplace company , Contractor and the team on 17A with Toni came through for us and we are absolutely thrilled with the quality of work by all involved. I wanted a slab to do a little project for a desk at home. I contacted this business and spoke to Sal. Let me start by saying this was an amazing experience. Sal spent 20 minutes with me on the phone passionately, explaining to me the different types of wood and helping me work around my budget It felt good. I ended up driving two hours to these guys because of my conversation with Sal. When I got to the location, I was mesmerized by thousands of pieces of different slabs of different, beautiful trees. The options were endless. I ended up finding something I really loved, but it was out of my budget. To no surprise, the guys worked with me and I ended up coming home with a beautiful piece of Walnut. I’m extremely happy with this company.
