I was at Ferncliff today, visiting from Watertown, NY, and I was truly impressed with the beauty of the grounds, including the mausoleums. One significant fact that truly perfected my experience there was the help that Lorraine in the front office, provided. She was obviously very busy when I stopped by to ask for directions in finding loved ones, but she stopped what she was doing and gave me her undivided attention. Then, not only did she provide maps to show me how to get where I wanted to go, she provided a guide, Nick, who was gracious and patient with me and my party, and gave us time to pay our respects once we had reached our loved ones crypts. I just wanted to leave a review to thank them both, publicly, and to express what a positive experience my visit there was. My experience at Ferncliff was the complete opposite of my experience with a very large operation in Glendale, CA, last April, an organization which shall remain nameless. It seems THEIR primary objective is to make visitors/mourners feel as unwelcome as possible. Since when is a cemetery about the management over the visitors and mourners? The comparison between Ferncliff and this other place is NIGHT and DAY. Cemeteries should make an effort to make any visitors welcome and comfortable.........whomever they may be; property owners or not. Those who do not could learn much from Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, NY. People should be able to mourn at the grave of whomever they choose, for whatever reason.........and not be locked...
Read moreWell my sister went today to visit my mom’s grave after two weeks of her burial. The cemetery was not open and she waited to see if they open the gates. She had to leave. I truly recommend for these holiday seasons people should visit their love ones at the regular hour. If their will any time time change a notification should be place on the entrances so people can be aware. Provide proper information of the visiting hours so people can plan accordingly. Please update your hour of business, but why is Black Friday included as an hour of differs. It should be a normal business day after Thanksgiving Day. If people are going to purchase a plot find out all details. That is including the purchase price of the plot, opening of the plot and additional cost if any. Another comment I have to say of what I have read from previous posts. Rudeness is not acceptable in any given especially in a cemetery, so I do ask please improve customer service and not take advantage of anyone during their time of lost. My mother chose the place and she liked it very much, but after a lost I wish to see the same customer service when she was alive and not any rudeness. I will be going soon to the office to discuss other pending matters so I wish to be received with...
Read moreThis is a very nice Cemetery the reson it isn't a 5 star is the fact that on Holidays there not as attentive to the needs of the Cemetery on mother's day they run out of Flower vases and one time no tags as well and make sure to bring your own pen if you can find a tag the locator machine was down as well on mother's day one year and with only one staff member on duty makes it hard to find someone's love one they should have at least two staff members on duty that day and when you order a plant for the holidays dont think because you paid two and three times what its worth because they water it that it's going to be alive when you go to pick it up that's not the case so save your money and a call to the office will not make you feel any better about the Experience so save that as well other than Those exceptions this is a very clean and nice Cemetery the old section has very poor lighting and one bathroom has only cold water for as long as I can remember a I guess it's like the Water fountain when you first walk in to much to...
