The landscape of college applications and admissions has changed so much in the past few years. My daughter was applying to 17 schools, half of which were universities with acceptance rates near or under 10%. I wanted to give her the best chance she could have. We worked with Kelly after being referred to her by a co-worker. Kelly's services are not one size fits all. She takes time to understand the needs of your particular family and student. My daughter was looking for help organizing her applications and with her essays and supplements. She already had a good comfort level with the schools she was applying to and had done a significant amount of research on her own. She's a high performer and at the top of her class, but we knew that wasn't necessarily going to be enough with acceptance rates being so low.

Kelly tailored her work with my daughter based on her individual needs, met her where she was at, and worked with her over the course of almost two years. I'm proud to say my daughter had some amazing options, including getting into a few of her top choices. She was awarded academic scholarships at almost every school she was accepted to and was accepted to almost every honors program she applied to. In the end she chose Tufts University. Kelly's experience and expertise really helped my daughter's application, supplements and essays stand out. She helped her tell a story that showed not only her accomplishments, but also her personality and who she was as an individual. I believe this helped her stand out in an applicant pool of equally talented kids and made the difference in getting into the "long shot" schools. Linehan College Counseling honestly was one of the best decisions my family and I have ever made. I went/graduated to Niskayuna High School, so I have heard of Kelly before. My aunt, who works at Niskayuna HS, referred me to Kelly if I needed any help. She gave me her brochure and I'm extremely thankful for the help that I got from Kelly. She helped me with applying to schools and many other things. She was always very friendly and ready to get down to work. The rate at which she set per hour was extremely affordable. I would 100% recommend her for any junior or senior that needs help with anything related to college. For example: applying to schools, getting financial aid information, even finding the right school for you. The list goes on and on. She really helped me and I hope she can help many other students and their families....

I started working with Kelly to go over my MIT supplemental essays in early October, about a month before my early application was due. We discussed essay concepts and themes, sentence structure and phrasing, and a bunch of other things to best communicate who I am to the admissions committee. She provided me with such amazing insight and knowledge, and helped me to figure out which ideas I liked best. She even reviewed some of my last minute essay-edits about 2 days before the application was due.

I ended up getting in early (roll tech!) and it wouldn’t have been possible without her amazing insights and help. She is so unbelievably knowledgeable about everything college applications, and I’m so thankful I was able to work with her.
