Diamond on Seneca — Local services in Town of Hector

The Jade suite room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. I didn’t have any issues once inside however the communication leading up to that point was pretty bad, and just odd.

You cannot reach anyone by phone, this is fine unless they’re not keeping up with communication via email/text which was our case. I had requested to add a couple of days at the beginning of our stay, was told they could accommodate that. I replied a few hours later saying that would be fantastic and then never heard back.

I followed up multiple times on different days a few days before check-in via text and never heard back. The day before check in I followed up again on all avenues of communication and heard back a few hours later that someone else had booked the room so it was not available to us. Not too ideal on any day let alone Labor Day weekend.

They offered to put us in 2 different properties meaning we’d have to move around 3 times day after day. This would’ve been pretty inconvenient so I opted to find another place and paid a premium price for last minute booking and let them know. No compensation was offered.

When checking in on the days we still had the check in instructions in the email did not include the room number or the room code. When we arrived I asked what the room number was(this was before realizing the code hadn’t been supplied either). She replied with the room number. They know they don’t supply the code but waited for me to ask for that as well before supplying it. Seemed very odd to me.

There is no reception services, there are cameras monitoring the common areas and outside of the rooms. The common areas seem to be all under construction.

While there are obvious areas that need work the property is beautiful overall. Unfortunately due to the poor communication and customer service we won’t be returning.

I happen to know Sarah and was very excited when she purchased this place. I was visiting cedarwood, and I will miss that spot, and she said she bought a new place. When I found out that brunch was going to be a thing, I was thrilled. Love brunch! Fancy breakfast with drinks. Then I went, and the view. Oh my goodness. Not only were there fabulous breakfast and drink choices, there is an incredible view. Inside and out. Large space. Lots of possibilities. Truly worth the drive up from Watkins Glen. Only about a 15 minute drive north along East side of Seneca Lake. The view of the Lake is breathtaking!
